About this Cook
i'm weird.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite family cooking traditions
thanksgiving is a big deal in my family. we get together and spend the whole day in the kitchen. i love it, i consider thanksgiving to be my personal olympics.
My cooking triumphs
one thing i make that always turns out beautifully is my cheesecake. it's fabulous and delicious and probably something 1200 calories a serving.
My cooking tragedies
omg, i made lemon meringue pie for a friends birthday. i was worried about the meringue but totally confident about the lemon part. i noticed that the pie still seemed wiggly when i took it out but i followed the recipe to the letter (something i rarely do) so i figured it just had to chill to set. yeah, when i took out the pie to cut my friend a slice the meringue held up but the lemon oozed everywhere. it was a disaster, a huge mess. i'm not trying it again any time soon.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
this recipe is delicious. i usually don't change a thing when i make it but last time i did 1 1/2 c milk and a 1/2 c white wine. awesome. this also works great as a sauce for white pizza. thanks for the wonderful recipe!!

Slow Cooker Kielbasa and Beer
a few tips, when i make saurkraut i always rinse and drain it well because i dont like the extreme bitterness. then i mix in a packet of dry onion soup mix with it and i use dark beer. the flavor is wonderfully homey

Pepperoni Rolls
i live in new mexico now but i grew up in the greater pa, wv area and i never realized until i found this recipe that you can't find pepperoni rolls anywhere here. these are something my life has been sorely lacking without my realizing it. thank you so much for this recipe, they always turn out perfectly! i like cheese in my pepperoni rolls so i always add some provolone or whatever else i've got. thanks again!
