Penne and Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2014
I really like the basis of this recipe, but I made a few additions. I sautéed finally minced onion in a combo of olive oil and butter. I also added fresh basil and hot pepper flakes. This recipe is a great starting point to add the flavors that you like. Also, I have made both with and without the pancetta. It's delicious both ways.

Loved this, we made it for Christmas and it was so good, just the right amount of sweetness and very moist.

Restaurant Style Beef and Broccoli

Reviewed: Dec. 18, 2012
I made this for dinner tonight and loved it. I only made a few modifications I didn't have fresh ginger so I used ground and I didn't have sherry so I used a sweet white wine and rice wine vinegar. I also used a sirloin cut of beef. Also I sauteed onions with the garlic and left them in and added a little white pepper and salt to the broccoli. Other than that I kept everything the same. I served it with white rice. It was yummy the sauce was thick not too salty or too sweet or fishy, even my picky kids liked it.

Buttermilk Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2012
I made this with a few changes. I used only 1 C of mayo and I added about 1/4 C of white vinegar omitted the celery seed - a personal preference as I don't care for it and I added salt to taste. If I had had white pepper I would have used that instead of the black. I really liked it, I never thought of using buttermilk in coleslaw and it really gave it a delicious taste. I also think the longer this sits the better it will taste. Thanks for this easy yummy recipe.

Maple Walnut Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2011
I made this pie and was very good. I did however make a few changes I used a regular pie crust and I did not have walnuts so I used candied pecans which I had from Trader Joe's. I also only had whole wheat flour. The topping came out really good. Overall a nice change from a traditional pumpkin pie.

Delicious Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2010
I followed the exact recipe and just did not like it. No one in my family did. I think the amount of worcestershire was too much and gave the chicken an odd artificial taste. On a positive note the chicken was moist and tender.

I have made this recipe several times for various get togethers. Everyone LOVES it and they always ask me for the recipe. I did not change a thing, it's perfect as it is.
