About this Cook
I am a professional graphic designer but I love all things creative.
My favorite things to cook
New recipes of any kind are my favorite. I really love dips and portable dishes I can share with friends and co-workers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I like to try new things all the time, so I wouldn't say I follow a lot of tradition.
My cooking triumphs
Every year I host a soup and wine party for Halloween. Lots of appetizers and desserts, plus 5 soups and tons of wine. I get a lot of help for this one though.
My cooking tragedies
I once cooked a cake for 4.5 hours. I forgot about it. Needless to say, the pan had to be thrown away because the cake petrified to it.

French Crepes
First time ever making crepes and they were perfect! Even the very first one out of the pan! I followed the advice of others and poured the batter around the outer edge of a hot buttered pan which worked wonderfully. Mmmm. These are our family's new Sunday brunch favorite! We did half savory with chive cream cheese and bacon filling and half sweet with plain cream cheese (mixed with a spoonful of powdered sugar) topped with cherry compote. Delicious!

Smoky Chipotle Hummus
This is delicious, best hummus recipe I've tried and I've tried A LOT! Be sure to use ONE chipotle pepper, NOT one can! The wording is a little unclear. My extended family wouldn't eat something called "hummus" because they think they don't like new things. I called it bean dip and a double batch was gone in one afternoon! Perfect with pita chips, on a wrap with veggies and as dip for about anything you can dip!

Jeanie's Falafel
This is the best homemade falafel I've had. It stayed together while frying and tasted great.
