Cowboy Cookie Mix in a Jar

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

This recipe 'as is' is not very good. WAY too much oil and sugar. I cut the sugar a little and it was still plenty sweet enough. There is so much oil in these muffins that they felt greasy. Next time, I will replace most of the oil with applesauce and sub egg whites instead of whole eggs. I'll probably cut the sugar in half also. They also took longer to bake than the recipe said, by about 10 minutes.

French Chicken Stew

This recipe is pretty good, but it feels like it needs something. Maybe white wine in place of some of the chicken broth? Also, I got this recipe out of a magazine originally and in that version it says that you can use alfedo OR marinara or some sort of red pasta sauce. I used marinara and it turned out much better than how I think it would with the alfredo.

Healthier Chicken Enchiladas I

These are very good. My husband is a picky eater who loves spicy food and hates most 'healthy' food. Even though this recipe is healthier than some of the others, this is my husband's faveorite and he requests it all of the time.

Broccoli Chicken Divan

SO GOOD. And easy! With the recommended changes this would be a 5! I left out the butter and subbed the milk for low fat sour cream. I also used frozen chopped broccoli instead of fresh.

Slow Cooker Chicken Pot Pie Stew

There are a couple of things you can do here that makes this recipe better/easier. First, I add celery seed and garlic powder, minus the salt. There is already plenty of sodium in the chicken soup and bouillon and, in fact, I also cut the bouillon in half. I add about a soup can and a half of water to the mix so that there is more "gravy" at the end to soak up with biscuits. Also, I don't add the baby carrots. I just buy frozen veggies with peas and carrots to add towards the end. Overall, this one is a keeper.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

The portions on this recipe are all wrong. I made this exactly as stated and, first of all, it made way more than 24 cookies. Second, the flavor of these was just not there and the texture was not good. Waste of good ingredients.

Salmon and Spinach Fettuccine

I made this exactly according to the instructions. I am surprised that no one else said anything about the consistency of the sauce. Because it uses flour/milk instead of cream, it comes out the thickness and color of roux (and has flour lumps unless you sift it). I tasted it while cooking, and it tasted like nothing; and that was after I added garlic to it. So, I added salt. Of course, after this it only tasted like salt. After I added all of the other ingredients the dish didn't look appetizing at all.

Raspberry Chocolate Supremes

I made this almost exactly true to the recipe and it turned out really good. The only thing I did different is make extra chocolate glaze, and I am glad I did, or there probably would not have been enough. As others have stated, these do taste better after sitting in the fridge overnight. The only problem I had with it then was that the crust was a little tough to cut through with a fork.

Mediterranean Puff Pastry Chicken

For this recipe I used half a sheet per half a chicken breast and it ended up looking really nice. I did not marinate in the egg because I did not have time. Instead I just brushed the chicken with the egg, and mixed the garlic with the tomatoes. I then brushed the pastry with the egg so that it would be golden. I made this for Valentine's Day, so I drew a heart in the top of the pastry with a knife (making sure not to poke it through all the way). It turned out really cute, and it tasted great! My fiance gave it 5 stars and my father in law got the leftovers and raved about it!

Mushroom Soup Without Cream

I added some small star pasta to this near the end of it cooking. Also, right before I stirred in the stock, I stirred in about 2 tbsp. all purpose flour with the veggies. This thickened it up just enough. I took the advice of others and added a couple of dashes of hot sauce and a bay leaf.

A Jerky Chicken

Hearty Turkey Stew with Vegetables

This was very good. I used split chicken breasts to make stock, then shredded the meat for the stew. I also added some fresh thyme I had on hand, which went well with everything. Left out bell pepper since the hubby dislikes it.
