My favorite things to cook
Anything. Love vegetables but run out of ideas on cooking them. Could be a semi-vegetarian with more information.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Thanksgiving where everyone brought something and we all helped at Mom's house. Christmas eve with hor ouvers. Trying chestnuts this year.
My cooking triumphs
Homemade ravioli. Homemade sauce. Still learning to perfect things but I keep on trying. I like more things then my family does. My youngest is still at home and will pretty much try anything I make.
My cooking tragedies
Black bean soup. Yuck! Looked brown and mushy. Killing all my homegrown herbs. Had a beautiful herb garden but lost track of what was what so I plowed it under. What a mistake!

Beer Batter Fish Made Great
We loved this batter on the cod however it didn't get crispy enough for us. Next time I will try cooking it longer. Recoating and refrying was a definite failure because the coating all fell off. The paprika really made it!

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV
This was outstanding. I didn't use the extra onions and deglazed my pan with water since I don't ever have alcohol in my home. Timing was very good. Ours was done about a half hour earlier. We thickened with the flour and water then used bread to sop up the gravy. I added corn, and frozen green beans an hour before it was due to be done. We like veggies. Yum. We will use this recipe alot. Thanks.

Broccoli Chicken Divan
This was wonderful and so easy. I used 2 frozen chicken breasts which I had thawed then fried with a little oil and salt. I used frozen broccoli florets which I pre-cooked. I didn't have milk so addded a little water and had to use processed cheese since I was out of cheddar. The processed cheese tasted good but made the casserole runny at first. It firmed up as it cooled. I crushed a handful of seasoned stuffing cubes and used it as bread crumbs. Even with all the necessary changes because my cupboard was bare it was terrific. I can't wait to actually follow the recipe. Thanks Terry!
