About this Cook
Happily married since 2008 (haha... SOOOO long ago!). I work part time and go to school full time. I hope to become an occupational therapist! I would have done culinary school, but I cherish my evenings and weekends with my husband and want to keep them open for him. So, I indulge him with my cooking experiences! He loves me for it!
My favorite things to cook
Anything NEW! I love trying new recipes and finding a new reason to expand my spice cabinet!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Me doing all of the cooking... haha... but it's true! I love it when a family's meal success is in my hands. The pressure is exhilarating! And I rarely disappoint!
My cooking triumphs
Tamales! Someone told me it wasn't possible... 30 dozen tamale's later, I had a cooler of Christmas Gifts and a big "I TOLD YOU SO!"
My cooking tragedies
Deviled Eggs 30 minutes before guest arrival. The eggs wouldn't peel without taking hunks of eggs with it AND I didn't have paprika! So I "cleverly" substituted chili powder... BIG MISTAKE!

Streusel Topped Blueberry Muffins
These muffins came out just as they were supposed to with the recipe as is. However, the streusel really made the muffins. It was DELICIOUS. However, the rest of the muffin was just... meh. They were just ok. nothing over the top about the muffins themselves. I think next time, I will keep the streusel recipe but find another for the muffins themselves.

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup
I'll be honest, I'm usually not so good at the roux thing and I'm not so good at the potato soup thing... but this one was...Absolutely wonderful! Used leftover ham and stuff I had around the house! It was wonderful! And I didn't look like a complete doofus with it! =) Woohoo!

Super Easy Doughnuts
These donuts were okay. I didn't have any issues with the ingredients (I used 1/2 cup of milk like everyone insisted on) and the donuts came out alright. But that's just it... they were alright. They seemed very labor intensive (standing over the fryer for an hour) for how they taste. I think I expected a bit more.
