About this Cook
I'm 25 years old and newly married. I am not the best cook in the world, but I try and my husband is always happy with what I make. I prefer baking, but I try to make all different kinds of foods. Hoping to find lots of great recipes here!
My favorite things to cook
Baked goods mostly- breads, brownies, cakes, cookies, pies, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We love baking a banana bread recipe that my mother-in-law has been using for years. One of the best banana breads any of us have ever had. I will be getting my great-grandma's butter tart recipe soon too so I can start making it since she is too weak to cook too much. Can't wait to make it for her!
My cooking triumphs
Of course I can't think of one because I am being asked. Whenever I create one of my "concoctions" and my husband asks me to make it again. I will think of some to put on here soon.
My cooking tragedies
There have been a few. I remember awhile ago trying to make Raspberry Chocolate Truffles. I even had a recipe and followed it exactly and somehow I ended up with melted clumps of chocolate everywhere and raspberry jam all over myself. The chocolate was so melty and sticky that I couldn't even form them into balls. You could see the lumps of jam in the chocolate clumps. It looked gross and even though I am sure it tasted ok, I would not serve it to anyone. I tossed them all in the trash. That was fun! HA HA!

Artichoke Spinach Dip
Everyone at Easter dinner loved it. Followed all directions except added an extra thing of spinach. Was perfect amount of spinach. Will definitely make again. Super easy and fast to make.

Cookie Dough for Ice Cream (Eggless)
My husband loves this. You can just eat it alone since it's eggless or put it in something. Either way- yummy.

Garlic Aioli
This is great! It's very garlicky but very good! I made oven fried potatoes which we dipped in this. I had also made chicken fingers which my husband also dipped in it. It is dangerous because we kept eating even when we probably were not hungry anymore because it is so tasty. It does have a strong taste so it might not taste delicious at first bite but put it in the refrigerator for at least a little while before eating. That seemed to help somehow.
