Adzuki Mooncake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
should be six stars. The most heavenly tasting cookie/cake I have ever eaten. The very first one I had at China Town in Boston, Ma. about 27 years ago. I have never forgotten how wonderful they are. Very expensive to buy. So, if you give one or two as a gift to a DEAR friend, you are indeed giving a little treasure. Bev

Cheesy Chicken Bundles

Thanks for a great keeper. Hubby and I loved it. I omitted the cream cheese because I didn't think it needed it and it was wonderful without it. Thanks again.

Mexican Green Chile Stew

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2009
I did alter the recipe as follows: I added chopped cilantro (fresh), chopped onion, 4 smashed garlic, Two big cans of different kinds of Mexican beans drained, Red pepper flakes, oregano, salt/pepper,wee bit of sugar and juice of 1/4 fresh lime. Let it simmer most of the day. Added 1 handful of rice too. Yummy. So. Your recipe was my base and I thank you very much. Aso browned all the meat and added one quart of vegetable stock in place of wine and left out cloves. Beverly

Premier Cheesecake Cranberry Bars

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
Ok...you are to blame :-) I think we each, hubby and I, gained 5 lbs. by eating one inch piece of this amazing dessert!!! Fantastic. But, you must have a crowd to share it with or I will feel sorry for you. I must bring pieces to neighbors to help us eat this delicious concoction.

Moroccan Peach Roasted Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 27, 2009
Made exactly as stated and it was extremely pretty and tasted great. Mine got a wee bit overcooked as the phone rang just before serving, but not the recipe fault. This would be lovely as a dish to serve company and I think other fruits or nuts could be used too.

Pesto Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2009
I would add toasted pine nuts and toasted almonds and hazelnuts that have been chopped instead of walnuts. Also you can add chopped flat leaf parsley to stretch the basil. Roasted garlic and salt and pepper after putting in your cheese and whirling it up. Good start.

Roast Pork with Apple and Onion Gravy

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2011
I made this yesterday but I made my own gravy and added a tad of cooking marsala wine to the gravy. It is very good. Now I need an idea for the leftovers :-) Thanks for sharing this with us.

Onion Sauce

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2009
Soggy? What?? Sauce is soggy. Bread is put through the food blender. Of course it is going to be soggy. It is sauce. Reminds me somehow of German Style cooking. I don't know why. But yummy. Bev

Slow Cooked Pork Barbeque

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
Since I always have to change everything a little bit, I added thick pork spare ribs and chicken legs. Then I made my own sauce of 1/2 cup Soy Sauce, 1/2 cup water, 1/2 cup sugar, two smashed garlic gloves, one inch chunk of ginger smashed, med chopped onion. Cooked all day. First three hours on high then on low. Yummy. Have leftovers toward today's dinner. Great fun using these slow cookers, gives me time to do lots of other things. Happy New Year Everyone. Beverly

Lime Pear Gelatin Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
I use the fat version but I want to recommend it to everyone who loves a light dessert. It can be made with other flavors and other fruits and makes a wonderful "take to the cookout party" recipe. Everyone I have ever brought it to loves it. Beverly

Cape Cod Cocktail Meatballs

I really didn't like them. It was a disappointment as I took them to a buffet for Christmas. People said they were good tho'. I won't make them again. I did make them as written in the recipe.

Guinness® Corned Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2011
It is good. I had to add my own spices as there was not a pkg. in with the meat. (Odd). anyway, I was gentle with them and I think I got it spot on. This is quite a delicious recipe. I would use a bit less sugar next time tho'. I think a bit of mustard will make the meat in a sandwich, my favorite way to eat this. I had a friend who owned his own meat market and he made grey corned beef that was over the moon wonderful. Oh how I do miss that man and his store. Hubby likes this one and that is good because he is hard to please. Oh, I did use the crock pot too. Put potatoes and a beautiful big onion in two hours before it was done for my husband. He loves onions. Thanks for sharing a keeper with us.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies IV

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2011
These are terrific. But I do want to let whoever makes them to expect double what the recipe says. I think I will have about 5 dozen. Mine were not at all dry but I did have to mix by hand very difficult too as my arms are weak (old age :-) Thank you very much for a beautiful and delicious cookie. My oven is a bit off so I turned my heat down to 340 degrees and cooked for 11 minutes. Watching carefully. Thanks again. It is a definite keeper.

Herb Dumplings with Pork Chops

I made it exactly as written. However, I only liked the sage in the sauce. I did not like sage in the dumplings. Next time I will do plain dumplings. A good recipe and I will make it again with that modification. Thank you Cheryl
