I used to be so focused, & now I really have to concentrate-did I really do my homework while watching TV when I was a kid? Where did I put my keys? I  know I had them,I unlocked the door to come in the house. Now I read the recipe all the way through, at least once & check that I have everything & in the amounts needed, & once I've used it, put it aside or away.  Takes longer to get things together, but the (better) results are worth it. I know this is good advice for all, not just seniors, but I kinda miss my photographic memory.  Now, I can watch a movie, ask my DH when we got it & he'll tell me I've watched it a number of times-What? No way!  I've never seen this movie before! Everything is new again! Does any of this happen to anybody else?

Also, I'll write down  "need" on a shopping list & will buy it more than once. so I might have a lot of bananas, but no flour, but then go to CostCo & get a 25 #bagof it-won't have to worry about that for awhile!

So, we're getting a year's worth of rain in one week-everything's wet, but hopefully the worst is over, or will be by morning. & we might even get some sunshine this W/E. Hope everyone is doing fine out there in cyberland!

I need to write lists too! I know if I have watched something and not crazy about having to watch it again unless it's a Really good movie. Doing good at the beach GE!! Take care:)

Darn...I posted a response and it vanished... I like you need lists...but they only help when I remember to bring them to the store along with the coupons I clipped! I get nervous when I am low on yeast...now I own 4 lbs of yeast! Hmmm....seems I FORGOT and bought two mega packages of yeast at Sam's! Stay high and dry. Winter in a Week should be our new State slogan!

I had a pretty good memory until motherhood...it's so bad, my husband will come to the store with me if there's something he really, really wants, because I ALWAYS forget the "important" things!

This happens to me like crazy. Last summer, when I was making a lot of pasta salads, potato salads, etc. every single time I went to the store I bought a jar of mayo. I kept thinking we were out and at one point we had SIX jars of the stuff.
