About this Cook
I am a 52 yr old grandpa with four grandchildren and a pair of twins on the way. I have always loved to cook. It always impressed my girlfreinds when I was younger. Now my wife says she is blessed to have me take on some of the kitchen duties.
My favorite things to cook
My favorite items to cook are varied. I find they become my favorites because they are so good and I don't screw them up. They include Banana Bread, Ribs, some desserts and anything BBQ'd.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Our only real tradition is the Xmas family meal. Both the wife and I are busy for a few days prior to Xmas trying to get everything ready, 'cause it don't all fit in the oven at once. The usual stuff, some whipped potatoes, fresh buns, a bird and a ham and a few different vegetables.
My cooking triumphs
My triumph is my ribs. They are so easy, yet so tasty. I admit the reciepe is not mine but after so many years, I feel it is. I will post it when I finally have the energy and time.
My cooking tragedies
. Just thinking of it makes me cringe. The wife makes a mac 'n cheese dish using real cheese. I've always been a KD guy. So, I thought I'd try it as real cheese has to be more healthy than processed powder, right? Well, lets just say, when I was finished, you could use the mixture to put shingles on your roof. The whole thing had to be thrown out, and no, I have never attempted it again. I'll stick with KD thank you.

Hot Honey Chicken
Reading all the reviews, it becomes clear that the secret to this one is the hot sauce you use. Different sauces have different amounts of 'kick'. Some will bury the honey and some have no spice at all. When you give a review, please let us know the hot sauce you used, so we can gauge it against other reviews.

The Humble Shepherd
We found the recipe excellent, but wonder why turkey gravy mix was not used. Maybe next time.
