My Little Bakers
About this Cook
I am a stay at home mom loving every bit of life! I love family history, both doing research and preserving my own. I recently joined an amazing company called Heritage Makers and became a consultant. With Heritage Makers I create digital scrapbooks and other things to prerserve my family's memories. I LOVE it! My website is come take a peak!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake fresh bread... no bread makers here, just hands kneading the dough, something about that just feels so good. I also love to cook fresh healthy meals, anything from basic homemade mac and cheese to gourmet meals, it's all so fun for me!
My favorite family cooking traditions
One thing I've tried to do for my kids is feed them natural food instead of processed, I can't say I'm perfect but I can say I've never opened a jar of baby food! As they get older I find it a fun challenge to find healthy treats that they love, our fav right now is homemade granola, they help me pick out items to put in it at the bulk barn. I love having my kids help me cook, it's a little more messy and takes a bit more time but the rewards far outweigh the mess!
My cooking triumphs
Last Christmas in order to make a bit of extra money I displayed some baked goods and took orders, little did I know I'd have orders for 30 dozen linzer cookies... these were sandwich cookies, so yes, that's 720 cookies, 360 sandwiches I put together in 2 nights, among all the other orders I had... needless to say my linzer cookie cutter broke near the end and my fingers hurt but I do make a darn good linzer cookie!
My cooking tragedies
When I was about 17 I forgot I was broiling garlic bread and it ended up on fire... oops!

Best Lemonade Ever
MMM, perfect for a hot sunny day! To squeeze the lemon juice out cut them in half and then pierce them with the fork and twist it around inside the lemon.

Whole Grain Waffles
I made these for breakfast yesterday, the kids demanded more for lunch and now we're having the again for breakfast! I'm going freeze a bunch so they can pop them in the toaster themselves. Wonderful recipe!
