Dirt Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
I loved this! However, I left the butter out, because it just seemed completely unnecessary. Why add those extra calories when it tastes great without it? Layered the cookie crumbs and pudding mixture in a flower pot. A very fun and creative dessert!

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2014
I loved this, but as written it could used some tweaks. I left the butter out, because it just seemed completely unnecessary. Why add those extra calories when it tastes great without it? I used one package of oreos (14 oz.) and that was plenty. Also, I think the recipe should only call for an 8 oz. tub of cool whip; I used 12 oz. and it made way too much pudding mixture. I couldn't fit it all in the pot. A very fun, creative and yummy desert!

The flavor was pretty good but I thought it was too rich.

These are very very moist and flavorful. I only used 1 cup sugar, which was enough.

St. Patrick's Day Zucchini-Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 11, 2013
P.S. I used more oats in place of granola...it was perfect! Unfortunately, these cookies didn't come out as green-colored as I would like, but you can still see the green specks of zucchini so it's okay. Their looks don't hold a candle to the taste!

Whole-Wheat Dark Chocolate Zucchini Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2013
I just made these yesterday and I really like them! The only thing I changed was to use one whole egg instead of two egg whites. These brownies taste like a cross between zucchini bread and fudgy chocolate cake. You can taste the zucchini just a little, but I love zucchini bread, so that was not a problem for me. I had no problem using only whole wheat flour, either. They are so rich, chocolatey, and moist that I kept going back for more!

Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2012
Well, the idea of this ice cream is great. I'm a fan of peanut butter, especially with chocolate, but this ice cream had too much peanut butter for me. Next time I would probably cut the peanut butter to no more than 1/2 cup, maybe even 1/3 cup. But then, I usually prefer my chocolate to be the dominant flavor, so maybe next time I'll make a chocolate ice cream, add about 1/4 peanut butter to it plus the peanut butter cups. However, I'm still giving this 4 stars because it was good and rich, just not quite what I was looking for.

Homemade Maple Syrup

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
I came up with this exact same recipe and I think it's much better than the recipe on the back of the maple flavoring box! Tastes as good, if not better, than store-bought, and is "healthier" than store-bought, if that's the right word!

Boardwalk Quality Maple Walnut Fudge

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2012
This fudge is just fabulous!! I LOVE maple, and thought that 1 teaspoon maple flavoring would not be sufficient for me, so I put in a full tablespoon (3 teaspoons). I also cut the butter down to 2 tablespoons. It turned out perfect! Smooth, rich and creamy!

I enjoyed this just about as much as Starbucks' version! It's so easy, too! You're right, the battery-powered frother makes it extra special!

I really loved the flavor, however the meat was not as moist as I expected. I would like to try this recipe on a whole chicken, too. It was very good.

This is exactly how I always make grilled cheese sandwiches, and it always turns out perfect. I personally like to use whole wheat bread and sometimes add ham or turkey and tomato slices.

Right out of the oven these were awesome, warm and chewy, but when they cooled they got very hard. I wish they'd stayed chewy.

Fudge

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2011
This is very similar to my favorite fudge recipe except mine calls for a teaspoon of vanilla to be stirred in at the very end. During the holidays I like to use peppermint extract in place of the vanilla, and sometimes omit the nuts.
