Iced Pumpkin Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2002
These cookies have become a family favorite! All my relatives beg me to make them for our get- togethers. They also freeze wonderfully--I always keep a few on hand for that quick craving satisfaction. This is one of the best cookies ever!

Blueberry Streusel Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
What a fabulous way to use up my frozen blueberries from our garden! I followed the recipe for the cake exactly (using 2 teaspoons of baking powder instead of the tablespoons typo). I skipped the streusel topping and when the cake cooled frosted it with a mixture of melted butter, vanilla extract, orange extract, powdered sugar, and milk. This is going to become a staple year round in my house. Thank you for the recipe!

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
My mom has been baking this recipe since I can remember. She makes at least one batch if not three or four every week. They are the BEST.

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 28, 2010
Excellent recipe! I followed suggestions and used seedless raspberry jam. The cake took 65 minutes to bake. It was the richest, most filling cheesecake I have ever eaten. Everyone loved it.

Ricotta Cookies III

Reviewed: Oct. 31, 2010
I had one cup of ricotta cheese left over from making lasagna, and although I was weary about cookies with cheese in them, boy I am glad I tried this recipe! I halved the ingredients and baked the cookies for 13 minutes. It made 30 medium sized cookies. For the frosting I just used butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and almond extracts thinned with water. These would make a great holiday cookie with the right colored sprinkles.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2011
I had to be a bit skeptical about a recipe called "best," but these babies actually live up to their name. I have made them twice now, the first time with canned chocolate frosting and the second time as the base for a homemade ice cream cake. This is my new go-to brownie recipe.

Almond Bars

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2009
My mom makes the same recipe, except she uses a 8x8 inch pan. The bars bake better if you cook them at 350 degrees for the 13x9 inch pan. They took 30 minutes. I love these bars too...they are so simple but one of my favorite treats!

Wedding Cake Icing

Reviewed: Nov. 11, 2009
What an excellent frosting! I followed the recipe exactly, didn't need to add any extra water. I have this on vanilla cupcakes and the cookies and cream cake on this site. It most definitely tastes like bakery frosting to my mother and me.

Peanut Butter Easter Eggs

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
Excellent recipe! I doubled the recipe and used whipping cream instead of milk. It took about 1/4 cup of cream to make a smooth mixture. A 1 pound package of Candy Quik was enough to coat the balls-doubling the recipe made about 80 of them.

Buttery Corn Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2010
Delicious! No need to change a thing in this recipe. It was the most moist cornbread I've ever made and definitely going in my recipe box.

Aunt Kaye's Rhubarb Dump Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2008
This was a fantastic recipe! Very simple to prepare...I brought it in to my 3rd graders because they had never tried rhubarb before. They loved it and begged me to make it again for them.

Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Oct. 19, 2009
I follow this recipe exactly except for using a 7 ounce can of green chiles and light cream cheese. I also stir in all of the parmesan cheese to avoid a crusty top from the microwave. I prefer baking it in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes until it bubbles on the sides. This is frequently requested by family members.

Brownie Frosting

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2010
Wow! This frosting was so quick and easy to make but tasted like I spent a long time on it. It got rave reviews on my homemade brownies and made the perfect amount for a 13 x 9 inch pan. This one's a keeper! P.S. This tastes great made with white chocolate chips, just let the frosting set up a little longer.

Delicious! I used dark brown sugar and it reminded me of penuche fudge. I used it to frost the cocoa apple bundt cake on this site.

Cream Cheese Mints

Reviewed: May 21, 2007
I was only making these for 2 people, so I split the recipe to 1/3 of the original. I had to add about 1/2 cup extra powdered sugar to get it to a thick enough consistency to work with. They turned out great though. My mom loved them and I will defintely make them again.

Home-Style Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 8, 2009
I'm not a big potato fan, but I went back for seconds on this dish! This is an excellent recipe, although I did switch up a few things: I carmelized a whole large sliced onion in 8 tablespoons of butter (instead of using 1/3 cup chopped and 5 tablespoons until tender), I doubled the pepper, and I added 1 cup of cheddar and monterey jack shredded cheeses to the boiling milk. This took 90 minutes to bake. My family is already requesting the dish for Thanksgiving.

Impossible Coconut Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 10, 2009
My mom and I have been baking this pie for years. We make it for every big holiday and it is always a hit. Make sure you really grease the pie plate or the pie will fall apart when you try to pull it out. It's awesome topped with cool whip!

Creamy Orange Cake

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2010
This cake is delicious and gets moister the longer it sits...One thing this recipe fails to mention is that the cake should be refrigerated as soon as the gelatin is poured over it. Also, it needs to stay refrigerated due to the whipped topping.
