Jimmy Dean Breakfast Casserole

Reviewed: Oct. 8, 2012
i thought this was great!! made it exactly as written, just halved. didn't add any of the 'optional' ingredients. i made this about 16 hours before i baked it- i was worried that the bread would get soggy sitting in the fridge with all that liquid (and looked through reviews to see if anyone had addressed this), but it didn't! definitely measure the bread, i "eyeballed" it at first, thought better of it and measured it out- i didn't have nearly enough before.

Lemon Cream Pasta with Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2011
not bad...we definitely thought it was bland though. i used 12oz of pasta but didnt change anything else. cheese makes a world of difference. i didnt think it was too lemony at all (like some other reviews stated), if anything i thought it could use more...anything to give it more flavor

Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2011
so good!! it didn't sound that great to me in theory (i was looking for recipes to use up barley) but i was amazed at how delicious this was! i added worcestershire and didn't use water at all....i like salt :)

Whole Wheat Cereal Bars

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2011
these are delicious! REALLY sweet, but...i like sweet :) definitely don't pack the brown sugar! i made these with a stale box of rice krispies and it worked wonderfully.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2011
this was awesome! followed the recipe exactly, except with fire-roasted diced tomatoes instead of stewed. this was a welcome change from a lot of the other chicken recipes i make. thank you!

High Temperature Eye-of-Round Roast

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
i agree with another reviewer in that this may not work as well with grass-fed beef (which is what i used)- i also think it may not get very tender unless there's more than a tiny strip of fat on there. i sliced mine thinly and it definitely tasted good, kind of tough though. but again, i think its all in the cut of meat.

Chicken Penne Italiano

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2011
obviously i'm in the minority as well, but i thought this was a really strange dish. it took more cornstarch than called for to get the sauce to thicken,- and the resulting clear-ish yet thick sauce was thoroughly unappetizing looking. the taste was okay (hence the three stars) and i like the concept of an italian stir-fry- but i won't be making this again without using a different sauce entirely.

Real Italian Calzones

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
Sooooo good, I wish I could give this six stars! The dough recipe is fabulous. I have found that taking them out RIGHT when they turn golden brown is key, if you leave them in too long the calzones are harder to cut into ( but still delicious). They are also pretty big, so if you're just making this for two make sure you bring your appetite! Thank you for the awesome recipe!

Fragrant Chicken Curry

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This recipe manages to be both really spicy and really bland at the same time. I followed the recipe exactly, and although it was okay, I think it could use something else in it- salt maybe? The sauce was also really runny, if I made this again I'd add flour to thicken it.

Roasted Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2008
this was awesome! i had never made chicken noodle soup before, but was very pleased with how it turned out. the things i changed were only because of personal preference- added 8 c. total of chicken broth to make it soupier, used a store-bought rotisserie chicken, and added lots of cracked pepper. delicious!
