About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I like trying new recipes and making up my own. Desserts are probably my favorites.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas cookies and breads. Chili in the fall and winter. Liver and onions. My mom's recipe for pumpkin pie.
My cooking triumphs
I make decent pineapple chicken wings. Everyone loves my pumpking spice muffins. My best friend shared one of her recipes for pasta, spinach, and tomatoes. My girls love it.
My cooking tragedies
Stuffed onions--my family could not get past cinnamon in the meat. I liked them. Making a sauce, I grabbed the confectioner's sugar off the shelf instead of corn starch. My last orange chiffon cake was very tasty, but rose only to about 4 inches high.

Hoppin' John
I use country style ribs, seasoned and browned with the onion. I don't know how to cook without garlic. I add spinach to make a one-dish meal, and because I look for ways to use spinach. Of course, I serve with corn bread. This my recently-adopted New Year's tradition. Many thanks.

Chocolate Chip Cheese Ball
I made this recipe for a Thanksgiving potluck at my office. I made a double recipe. One recipe serves 32? Not in my world. It was gone in minutes. Everyone loved it. I appreciate the variations posted by other members. I chose to cover the cheese ball with toffee bits.
