Slow Cooker Pulled Pork

Everybody in our home looked this! Actually I used diet root beer since I'm cooking low carb and it still turned out great. A new staple in our home.

Candy Cane Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
I used to make these with my grandmother but I like this recipe even better! I only changed a couple things. I didn't have peppermint extract so I crushed a few candy canes (about a 1/2 cup) and used them instead, put it right in the batter. Before I chilled the dough I divided it and used the mixer to blend in the red food coloring for 1/2 the dough. You will need to use a lot of red food coloring so they don't look pink. I used about a 1/3 of a bottle. This dough is EXCELLENT to roll and work this. I'll use it for cookie cutter dough too. I didn't decorate mine, didn't need it since the crushed candy canes in the dough gave it a neat texture. Love them, thanks!!!!!

Outrageous Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 26, 2008
Great cookie, love the look and texture. I'm not much for oatmeal cookies so having a oatmeal peanut butter, chocolate chip combo is what interested me. Nice change from the ordinary cookie but I do like mine a little chewy, so it gets 4 1/2 stars from me.

Make em big or small doesn't matter at all these are AWESOME!!!! Only change I made was just two eggs and softened the butter instead of melting it. The only chocolate chip cookies I'll even make!!!!

Cranberry Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2008
Excellent, however I made it low carb by replacing the sugar with splenda, a little less then sugar. I didn't have orange juice so I used water and a shot of lime instead and we loved it! It still thickened with the splenda, great low carb alternative.

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2008
wonderful, I think I'll try to brine chicken too! I have always baked my turkey upside down and they have always been very juicy but doing the brine helps to retain the juicyness for reheats too!

Make-Ahead Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
Awesome and so easy!!!! Made my Thanksgiving so less stressful! I cooked the potatoes at 9am, mashed with half-and-half then left them in a crock pot on warm with a stick of butter on top. At noon I stirred in the butter and they were fluffy and hot to serve! Excellent!!!
