Classic Peanut Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
these were some good peanut butter cookies. i actually halved this recipe so i increased the peanut butter and the flour by 1/4 cup. even though i only made half the recipe called for i still came out with 3 dozen cookies. i made half normally and half with dark chocolate hershey kisses pressed into the middle. make sure to refrigerate thoroughly before you bake these guys or else you can hardly shape them into balls.

Chocolate Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Reviewed: Aug. 6, 2009
these were so good. i went a little heavy on the salt and i think it made them even better. i upped the cocoa as everyone suggested. they came out great although i had to cook mine a solid 12 minutes. they were still chewy and everything.

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2009
these muffins are realllllly good. i used a whole cup of milk and some extra oil like most suggested. i only had normal sized chocolate chips so i used those and increased to a whole cup of chocolate chips. my muffins baked in less time than the recipe suggests- so make sure to keep an eye on them. and just to share this gem of knowledge- every time i bake muffins the thin aluminum foil kind of muffin cups work so much better than the thicker non-stick metal ones. im not sure why- but the flimsier muffin cups seem to cook more evenly and the bottom never burns or gets tough.

Chicken Tikka Masala

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
This recipe was really good. I made a few changes. I personally thought the cumin flavor was a little too strong which made it reminiscent of mexican... I will probably halve it next time. I squeezed a little extra lemon juice and that seemed to counteract the cumin. I added a touch of curry powder (which I know isn't exactly authentic) but I thought the curry made it taste more like what I'm used to. I sauteed onions and green peppers with the jalepeno and garlic. Some of the Indian places around me serve their tikka masala with those. Lastly, I left out salt and just added it to taste on my plate. served with naan and rice- I will definitely make this again.

Eggnog Thumbprints

Reviewed: Dec. 22, 2008
I am a huge egg nog fan and i just didnt taste the egg nog in these cookies. mine didn't turn out puffy like the pictures that have been put up-even though i followed the directions exactly. seriously i really did. the cookies were pretty. the icing had a nice pearly shine and a good consistency but it just tasted too buttery to me-and ive never had that complaint before, i feel like there needs to be a little more mixing of flavors other than just the nutmeg and rum. *also i used real rum.

Chocolate Frosting II

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
i used this frosting to frost a layer cake. i just had to add a few extra tablespoons of milk and i really didnt have very much trouble spreading it. it was a very pretty frosting and easy to make. I didnt like the flavor very much. The sugar and the cocoa didnt seem to mix well and it just tasted like sweetened cocoa powder... i used a mixer on it for quite a while but it always seemed gritty. maybe i did something wrong but it didnt taste or feel like frosting should. after sitting out for only a little while - like even while i was frosting my cake- the icing hardened. it definitely didnt keep long sitting out.

Dark Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2008
this cake was really good. it had a nice texture and stayed moist. It sat out on the counter with a lid overtop and still stayed soft for about 4 days (that is-until it was completely gone) i also upped the amount of cocoa from 3/4 cup to a full cup. I made it in two 9 in round pans and it took about a half hour to cook. i was really careful when i tested it and didnt have any problems with the cake falling in on itself. i used a chocolate frosting recipe from this site and made a raspberry sauce. The raspberry sauce was delicious and complimented this cake perfectly.

Creamiest Chocolate Mousse

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2008
Delicious! everyone who tried it loved it. I did replace the alcohol with some very strong coffee. The mousse actually kept a shelf life of a few days in my fridge and even then i never noticed any separation. i also made a raspberry sauce with some fresh raspberries that made this just perfect.
