Don't add your eggs to boiling water straight from the frig. Our eggs cracked when added to the water because the temperature difference between the boiling water and the eggs was too much. Better to either let them come to room temp or add before the boil. Also the water didn't cover the eggs since my pan was too big. I had to add extra water. I don't think the vinegar actually does anything either. Everything I've read says fresh eggs are harder to peel.
