Pumpkin Cake III

Reviewed: Oct. 29, 2011
This was delicious and I don't really like cake that much. I used a bundt cake pan and it took just 10-15 minutes more to bake. I made it for my husband's birthday decorating it like a pumpkin with the top of a real gourd in the middle to look like a pumpkin stem. It was a hit! I paired it with the Cream Cheese Frosting II dyed orange from this site. :)

Slow-Cooked Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2011
This was soooo good. I didn't have a can of tomato sauce, so I used 1/2 of the basil tomato jar sauce. didn't have a can of diced tomato, so I diced up a fresh tomato. I cooked the onion added the beef and some frozen minced garlic I had, then followed the rest of the directions. Eat it with brown rice and shredded cheddar, colby, jack cheese. I can't stop eating it and my husband loves it too. :)

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
Great! Just added more white wine and cheese then the recipe called for to my taste and 3/4 a small jar of capers, just because we had them and was trying to clear out my cupboard. Also threw in some left over rotisserie chicken. It was really good, but would have worked fine without the additions too.

Shepherd's Pie VI

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2011
This was really delicious! I followed the recipe, no tweeks, unless you count flavoring with Lawry's seasoning salt and pepper, which we do to almost everything in this house. Simple, savory and great! Serve with a salad or something green. It really went well with some red wine. :) Made it last week and making it again tonight!

Slow-Cooker Chicken Tortilla Soup

Reviewed: Nov. 30, 2008
This was really good. I'm new to cooking and I was so excited that this tasted so good for lunch for me, my fiance and his sister. I followed advice of other reviewers and put frozen chicken breasts instead of regular or precooked and I omitted a cup of water. I just took them out before serving and it was incredibly easy to shred them. (something I've never done before) I put it all together and cooked it over night. I woke up just to turn off the crock pot, then let it sit there for a couple of hours until lunch time. I turned it back on to heat back up, while I prepared the tortilla, then shredded the chicken. I served it with a side salad and self-serve bowls of avocado, grape tomatoes cut in half, grated mexican blend cheese, sour cream, the suggested baked corn tortillas, tabasco sauce and medium salsa. It was fun and like tacos or something, everyone could doctor it to their tastes if they prefer it hot or like a lot of cheese, etc. It really was yummy and easy. Not that cheap for me, because I didn't have all those spices and ingredients already, but now I have them for future recipes! I definitely recommend it.
