Sugar Coated Pecans

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2012
Simple, straightforward recipe. Mixed all ingredients in same bowl. Per review recommendations, 1) used 2 tsp. water & 1 tsp. vanilla, 2) increased cinnamon to 1 tsp.

Pumpkin Ginger Cupcakes

Reviewed: Nov. 13, 2011
Simply delicious, moist and flavorful! Per review mentions, increased ground ginger to 1 1/4 tsp in substitution of crystallized ginger and used french vanilla instead of butterscotch pudding. Also used nutmeg in absence of allspice. Topped with cream cheese frosting: 8 oz pkg cream cheese, 1/4 c butter, 2 c powdered sugar, 1 1/2 tsp vanilla, 1 tsp cinnamon. YUM!

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
I'm quite baffled by all the good reviews. This was the most frustrating recipe I've worked with to date! After chilling overnight, the dough was still too sticky to handle - I couldn't get it off my hands, let's not even mention the debacle of trying to roll it out! Giving up on any hope of making cutouts, I tried to salvage my efforts with simple round cookies, which spread in the oven and came out cakey and bland. I'm never revisiting this experience!

Caramel Bars

Reviewed: May 15, 2011
Followed reviewers' suggestions: 1) lined the 9x13 pan with foil for easy removal; 2) doubled the flour/oats/sugar/baking soda/salt; and 3) increased melted butter to 1 cup and heavy cream (milk also works just fine) to 7 tbsp. Cut when cool. The caramel mixture does take a bit of time to form, but patience! The end result is completely worth it :)

Replaced corn syrup with honey. Microwaved instead of using double boiler. Simple & splendid!

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: May 13, 2011
Amazing. Used mini chocolate chips and drizzled with Satiny Chocolate Glaze, but didn't change a thing otherwise. Moist & delicious and received rave reviews!

Sarah's Applesauce

Reviewed: Jan. 12, 2010
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! I was originally skeptical because it seemed so simple, but 4 chopped McIntosh apples, 1/2 c. water, and 1 teaspoon cinnamon later, I am in complete awe. Was tempted to add sugar while cooking, but am extremely glad that I didn't for both health and taste reasons!

Omelet Quesadilla

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2009
Simple, nutritious, and delicious...but kinda messy. The cheese is key to holding everything together, so make sure that you add enough!
