Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2010
This recipe was so delicious!!! I had a little bit of trouble when I was making the dough because I don't have a bread machine. I actually don't think I did this right, but I just added a packet of active dry yeast to the warm milk and let it set...which it didn't do very well. The dough only rose by about 1/3 of its original size, but I kneaded it down and let it rise after I put in the filling and cut it, and it did ok! I got rave reviews! DELICIOUS

Calzone

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2010
This was a delicious dough! The only thing I didn't have was dry milk powder, but luckily a neighbor had a tsp I could use:) I too made the dough by hand, and added Italian seasoning before rolling it out. Then I made individual hot-pocket type calzones and filled them with sausage, sauteed green pepper, garlic and onion, pepperoni, mozerella cheese and sliced black olives. Right before I took them out of the oven, I sprinkled on some mozerella cheese and a little more Italian seasoning, so that it melted on top. Loved the crust when it came out...crispy but soft on the inside. I dipped in marinara sauce. Next time I'm going to try a spinach and ricotta combination. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Garden Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2010
This recipe is wonderful! I made it last year for a volleyball tournament, and everyone loved it. It is so flavorful and filling, but not too heavy (which was good for the team because we had to go play). I am making it again for another volleyball tournament, and I'll be doubling the recipe for the 15 of us that are going to be there. I found that adding sliced black olives, feta cheese, and sliced up peperoni was good. Like other reviewers, I only use 1 bottle of dressing per batch, so I'll use 2 when I double it. I'm sure this will be a hit the second time around too!

It's Chili by George!!

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2010
This is excellent chili!! I have made this at least 4 times in the past month for family...it is a favorite! I use brown sugar instead of white, double the cayenne pepper, and use canned diced tomatoes in their juices to keep the texture chunkier. Also, I crunch up Tostidos chips on top, sprinkle grated sharp cheddar cheese on top of the chips, and zap it in the microwave for a few seconds to melt the cheese...yummy! My family and I will definitely keep a container on hand in the fridge/freezer during the winter!!

Apple Breakfast Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2010
I really loved this bread! The first time I made it according to the given recipe, the second time I combined suggestions from other reviewers with my own personal preferences. Here is what I came up with: I used brown sugar instead of white, 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon, added 1/2 tsp nutmeg, added about 2 tbsp honey and 2 tbsp oil, used one finely chopped Fuji apple (my personal favorite), added about 1/2 cup dried cranberries and 1/2 cup chopped walnuts. Then I baked them in a little mini-loaf pan because I gave them as gifts to my teachers. YUMM! They were a hit...I only actually got to eat one mini loaf because my family ate the rest in two days!
