Homestyle Turkey, the Michigander Way
Well, I thought it was time for a new review... I used this recipe 4 years ago to make my first Thanksgiving turkey as a new mom... it was my duty right? I had no idea what I was doing and for as long as I can remember I have hated turkey... it's always too dry and no flavor! So anywho, I used this recipe, followed it completely but I also rubbed the entired turkey with butter... and let me tell you... this is by far the best turkey I have ever had. I was so proud of my first Thanksgiving turkey I cried! Haha! The next year we invited both our parents over, my mom, who also hates turkey... loved it and my boyfriends parents are somewhat picky eaters, after eating the turkey and all the other goodies, his mother decided she was passing the tradition of hosting Thanksgiving on to me! So, this is the 4th year I have used this recipe, haven't changed a thing... and it turns out perfect year after year! I can't thank you enough for sharing your recipe, Robin... I sure am putting it to good use... plus... it makes me kinda proud to to be using it... my Dad is from Michigan. I talked to him a few weeks ago and told him all about your recipe... and it's name! :) Happy Thanksgiving!
