Emerald Green Risotto

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Seriously this dish is divine!! I followed the recipe pretty closely, omitted the beans and added mushrooms also used Veggie stock instead of the chicken. When I cook my boyfriend usually says, it could have done with some of this... or it needs this... For the first time he said - it doesn't need a thing!! YUM. Would highly recommend this. Thank you.

Gobble Up Granola Snacks

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2009
Very tasty, I used the honey instead of corn syrup. And used about 3/4 cup of trail mix (peanuts, almonds, raisins etc) along with 1/4 cup of coconut and 1/4 cup of craisins, yum. Probably needed a bit more sugar and honey mix, the oats tended to be flaky and crumbly in parts. I will be making these again for sure!

Chewy Chocolate Cookies III

Reviewed: Jan. 29, 2009
This is the exact texture I have been looking for!! YUM. Very chocolatey, the way i like them. A little hard to get off the baking sheet but after a little work with the spatula they came off all in one piece. I used about half a cup of trail mix (peanuts, almonds, cashews and walnuts) in place of just walnuts, worked nicely. Only used 1 cup of the cho chips, will up the trail mix by another 1/2 cup next time. Thanks for the recipe!! They will become a regular in my household.

Such a lovely cookie. I made them a little too big and was a little too generous with the jam, Homemade stuff, spewed over the sides. Added a 1/2 tsp of vanilla. YUM. Great recipe thanks very much :)

Award Winning Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Pretty good!! So far the best choc chip recipe on the site. This will be a weekly occurence in my house. I did use half a cup of shortening as I was short on butter, not sure how much difference that will make, I loved the texture most!

Smokin' Scovilles Turkey Chili

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
I was a litte heavy handed with the chilli powder (according to the rest of the household, not me!). Also I used just plain Fry's cocoa not the packets of instant stuff, I'm sure it makes a difference. I'll do that next time. We loved it, and the boys took leftovers for work 2 days later - even better!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2009
Very very tasty - mine wasn't very strong with the ham flavor until you got a piece in your mouth, I think next time I'll use a ham bone to boil the veggies in. Also thought some seeded hot english mustard would be yummy! Maybe a sprinkle of cheese, but only small changes, overall a nice soup!

Cheesy Baked Eggplant

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Tasty - I added zuchini as well, roasted it along with the eggplant and layered it in the bake, yum yum. Next time may add red peppers too. I used feta instead of ricotta, cheddar instead of mozerella, nice and cheesy and the pasta sauce added just the right flavor. Thanks for the recipe.

Melanie's Beef Barley Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
Felt the soup didn't have a lot of depth to it. I added a tin of crushed tomatoes and about a tablespoon each of thyme, parsley and a couple of bay leaves, let it simmer for an extra couple of hours then it was good to go. Good base recipe but needed the extra herbs. Thanks.
