Boudreaux's Zydeco Stomp Gumbo

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2009
Ok.. This was very easy to maek first of all... Second everyone I made it for loved it!! It made such a big pot.. I was the only one who didn't like it but its just not my type of thing to eat.. My mom said she didn't like gumbo she loved it.. My oldest son said he never had it.. He picked the shrimp out & ate like 5 bowls.. My brother also said he didn't like it & kept coming back for more.. EVERYONE loved it.. The reason I had looked up the recipe was because my fiance' had told me his friend FIWA made the best gumbo he had ever had so I wanted to try to beat him lol.. None the less my fiance' & FIWA tried it & liked it... My fiance's brother though said it was the best he had ever had.. I made it just like the recipe had said except for I added a can of oysters, a bag of okra I beleive it was 16oz. it was frozen, A can of clams, two small pouchs of frozen scallops, & I used cajun sausage My Fiance eats very spicy stuff like habeneros so I didnt think it would be spicy enough for him but I dont do hot very well at all. But I added about 3 tbsps of cayenne pepper & it still wasnt spicy to me.. Oh also I didnt have enough chicken broth so I used half chicken broth & half water for how much it called for..& instead of 2 tbsp of fresh chile peppers I used 2 whole ones diced.. & extra cajun seasoning & extra shrimp & sausage & chicken & extra garlic... Lol I guess I did make alot of changes but everyone loved it and it was very easy to make so I will probably make it again

Easy Peach Cobbler

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
That was the best peach cobbler I ever had.. It was different & I loved it. My entire family plus more loved it. This is how I made it I only had one can of peaches in heavy syrup so I cut the recipe in half I cut the peaches up & poured them in my pan sprinkled with a little sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, & approx. 1 tsp of vanilla mixed it all together, Then I only had a box of pineapple upside down cake mix so I used that it took approx. 3/4 the box to 4 oz. cream cheese I added a little sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, & 1 tsp. of vanilla mixed it all together until it was crumbly poured it on top the peaches patted it down into them then drizzled the recipe amount of butter on top of them then baked it until golden brown then pulled it out and mixed it all together and baked it approx. 15 more mins. I used approx. 2 tbsp sugar in peaches & cake mix & 1 tsp. of cinnamon, nutmeg & vanilla in cake mix & peaches it was so good we didnt even have ice cream to eat it with but it was great all 3 of my kids added a lil milk to there bowl of it & they loved it... Thanks so much for this GREAT recipe. So SIMPLE, FAST, & GREAT!!!

Reviewed: Nov. 17, 2009
Entirely to hot for me & my kids but my fiance loved them but he loves hot stuff btw I didnt use flakes because I didnt have any so I used ground But I did love them onion & the way they were cooked so the next day I tried it over & make my own I used real bacon bits a tsp olive oil fried that for a little bit added the onion, minced garlic, & lef tthe bacon bits in them then cooked all that until the onions were soft & I smelt garlic then I added the greens cooked them until they were wilted then added chicken broth & ham goya seasoning they were so good and my hubby loved them and he just spiced his own up a little with hot salt & fresh black pepper next time when I do them I will cook them that same way except I will remove the bacon bits in the beginning & add them at the very end so they dont get all soggy while your boiling the greens thanks for such a great recipe...

OMG!! Made just like recipe said except didn't sprinkle with powered sugar at end & it was so good did not taste like carrots at all my aunt hates carrots & she loved this.. Alot of people compared it to a light fluffy not as strong tasting pumpkin pie.. Also I sprinkled some pecans on top of half of it to try them with it & it was soooo good defintely a keeper & will make again.. Fam was so pleased with it.. Best carrot recipe I have ever found or tasted.. It was not to sweet it was just perfect it was good cold but it was GREAT hot majority liked it the hotter the better.. So keep this dish warm...
