Eastern North Carolina Barbeque Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
All I can say is oh my goodness! This is so good! I grew up in southeastern NC, and I grew up on this type of BBQ. It's just like I remember at family dinners growing up. My husband who is from Iowa said this BBQ recipe was better than some of the restaurants in NC who serve this. I accidently put a little more hot sauce than called for, so I ended up putting a tad bit more brown sugar in it to even out the taste. I wanted to make sure my son could eat it also. I slow cooked a pork tenderloin in the oven for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, shredded the meat with two forks, and then poured the sauce over it. I drained all of the excess sauce back into a cup just in case my husband wanted a little extra, but we ended up not needing it. Thank you so much for posting this recipe! Now when I move to Iowa in 6 months, I can bring a piece of home with me! :)

Fried Garlic Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
I figured that I would try this recipe because my husband and I are big garlic lovers. However, if I make this again, I will only use one bulb of garlic because 2 bulbs just made it way to strong. My eyes are still watering and my nose is still running from eating this dish.

I used this brine for the first time this year because I didn't have all of the ingredients for my normal brine. It was very delicious! I had to add more water to cover the turkey, but it came out delicious!

Traditional Salisbury Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2012
The gravy was too sweet for us because of the ketchup. I have since made this without the ketchup and it was excellent. I wasn't very good at making gravy until I came across this recipe. Now it is my go to gravy recipe! Thanks! :)

Dilly Green Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2010
this was very good. i used a can of rinsed french style green beans instead of frozen cut beans and i overmeasured the sugar (it was approx. 1/2 tsp due to not leveling off the spoon). the dill and sugar balance out the flavor so one is not overpowering over the other. Thanks again for posting a delicous and simple recipe!

Jam Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 18, 2009
okay, i am giving these a 4 star because i had issues with the yield quantity. i halved the recipe to 1/2 a dozen and I still got a dozen! Taste wise, was delicious. i know if i make this recipe again to halve it twice to make 6 muffins.

Cola Pork Chops

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2010
These were delicious! I used pepsi and let the sauce sit after mixing like other comments suggested. I also seasoned the meat with garlic salt, pepper, coated them with flour and browned them in a pan with a little olive oil before putting them in the oven. Delish! Will definitely make again! :)

French Silk Chocolate Pie I

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2009
This pie was so easy to make! Granted, my hand electric mixer had its job cut for it after using it for 10 minutes straight during the egg adding part, but it was well worth it! The chocolate mixture came out so smooth! I only had milk chocolate morsels that i melted in a double boiler. For the pie crust I used a homemade pie crust recipe from this site. Thanks for posting this delicious recipe!
