Pineapple Kugel

Reviewed: Sep. 11, 2010
Kugel was really good! Everyone absolutely loved it. However, I did make a couple changes. I needed to make the kugel parve, so I used margarine instead of butter. I thought there was too much liquid in the mixture so I used the whole 12 oz bag of pasta instead of 8oz. I will definately use this recipe again, but next time I will add golden raisins to add texture. Also, I will use pineapple tidbits instead of slices so that it is easier to cut and every piece of kugel has pineapple.

It was good, but I made a few changes. I added some cinnamon and ginger because it was lacking something.

Ginger Orange Glazed Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2011
The chicken was delicious, but I am not giving this recipe 5 stars for a couple reasons. First of all, I don't like eating the skin of the chicken so without the skin the flavor wasn't as strong. Next time I will take the skin off so that the meat gets flavored better. Secondly, I did not have hoisin sauce so I made my own from directions on a different website. I used soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic powder, oil, and pepper. I didn't have hot sauce or bean paste as it had recommended.

Cranberry Pot Roast

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
It was good, but it was missing something, I just don't know what. My mom and I made a gravy out of the liquid using cornstarch which was good because it added moisture, she overcooked it a bit. The cranberry flavor was not strong enough.

Zucchini Saute

Reviewed: Feb. 14, 2011
I halved the recipe and used half of a can of diced tomatoes in a garlic herb sauce instead of the tomato. I don't like mushrooms and used half of a red pepper instead. I wanted to use a yellow squash, but the ones at the store did not look good. The veggies were missing something, I think. Perhaps I did not add enough Italian seasoning.

Crust for Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
Really flaky and good!! I might have used too much flour to roll it out. I also didn't get enough dough to fit the 11X7 dish, but it still did the job. Next time I will use more flour and some spices to jazz it up.

Orange Honey Garlic Chicken

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2010
It was good, but not my favorite. My boyfriend seemed to really like it though. I doubt I'll make it again. If I do make it again I would nix the soy sauce and maybe add pineapple juice instead.

Veggie Pot Pie

Reviewed: Aug. 18, 2010
4 stars because I changed some things. I have made this a bunch of times, including twice using puff pastry and the Veggie Pot Pie crust on this site. The puff pastry crust was a bit mushy, but good. The veggie pot pie crust was good, I think when I was rolling out the dough I used too much flour because I could taste it too much. I also misplaced my broth so I made my own version. I used dried onion, a small amount of chili flakes, garlic powder, salt, and pepper and it turned out great!! Edit: I made this again with puff pastry dough and prebaked it for a couple minutes before transferring it to the top of my vegetables and cooking the whole thing together.

Ginger Veggie Stir-Fry

Reviewed: Sep. 27, 2010
I added chicken, which was good. I also used the veggies I had on hand. My ginger I had bought was bad so I used ground ginger, which didn't have much of an effect. It was good though!

White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake

It was delicious! However, there was too much raspberry sauce left over. Though, thats not that bad of an issue as I just made raspberry mojitos with it.

Sweet and Sour Chicken II

Reviewed: Aug. 8, 2010
I was not in my own kitchen making this dish which made my life difficult. I only had one medium saucepan so I fried up the chicken with a bit of pepper and garlic powder and cut it into pieces after it was cooked. I deviated from the recipe and cooked the veggies first because I don't like them raw. I took them off the stove then cooked the sauce and added the chicken and veggies back in. It was delicious and my grandma said it was the best chicken she ever had. She was probably exaggerating, but it was really good. Will make it again! oh and I used cornstarch instead of flour. I also only used a forth of a cup of vinegar.

Ambrosia Salad II

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
I made this salad yesterday and its fabulous! I did what another reviewer said about coating the bananas first in the juice from the pineapple. I did change a couple things. I used pineapple tidbits and grapes. I also didn't have mini marshmellows so I cut them into small pieces. Additionally, I used low fat store brand cool whip and from reviewers suggestion, I bought the 8oz container and didn't even use all of it.

Onion Rings

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2010
They were good, but by the time I finnished cooking all of the rings, the ones I had done first became mushy. I had coated the onions in flour first otherwise the batter all came off once in the oil. Maybe If I put the completed onion rings in the oven on warm they would stay crispy, but I don't know.
