Sweet Dinner Rolls

Reviewed: May 13, 2010
Fabulous! I didn't use an egg, and I used Earth Balance vegan butter, and Silk soy milk, and I cut the sugar by 1/2. I brought a double recipe to our family's annual Easter potluck, and they positively disappeared! Definitely sweet enough for dinner rolls if you halve the sugar, though.

Banana Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
Great recipe. The muffins were delicious, and my husband approved. Normally he won't eat banana bread because it is too refined and sweet. I used 1/4 cup turbinado sugar (instead of 1/2 cup white sugar). I also replaced half of the oil with applesauce. I replace half of the white flour with wheat flour. Finally, since I don't eat eggs, I left the egg out. To make everything bind together, I just mixed the wet and dry without the oil, and then added the oil after letting the mixture sit for a couple of minutes. This lets the wheat gluten activate and bind everything together. I'm keeping this recipe!

Mom's Sushi Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Thanks for sharing! Rice seems easy to make at first, but there are so many differences among rice-cooking cultures. This recipe really helped my sushi-making.

To Die For Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jan. 3, 2009
Very delicious. However, it is extremely unhealthy. I felt so guilty serving all that cholesterol and saturated fat to my husband. I'm starting to experiment with reducing the cream and butter gradually, and replacing it with milk. I've already notice that you can use a little less butter than the recipe calls for. Hopefully this delicious recipe can be something I'll be willing to serve to my loved ones more than once a year! I do like to have lots of sauce on pasta, but I used this sauce more as a condiment, and it was great that way. It decreases the impact of the problematic ingredients. About a week later, I reconstituted the left over sauce with milk and used it in lasagna. mmm!
