About this Cook
Now that I've graduated and have started my first career I have more time to cook, and more money to buy different foods!
My favorite things to cook
I like baking, mostly during the holidays, but learning (somewhat)healthy and tasty dishes is always fun. My favorites include cookies, homemade granola bars, green bean dishes, stuffed mushrooms, and soups.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade french fries and beef stroganoff are two that come immediately to mind, but I guess any potato dish was a hit back home.
My cooking triumphs
The thanksgiving turkey I made in 2009. It turned out great, everyone loved it, and it made a great soup, too.
My cooking tragedies
Baking soda and baking power, not the same thing. Enough said ;)

Eggnog Extreme
This is a very rich and very delicious treat! I swapped the white rum for Captain Morgan and add a touch of vanilla, the two compliment one another and add a different kind of sweet to the mix. Pair it with some gingerbread cookies and you'll be in holiday heaven!

Rosemary Roasted Turkey
This turkey was AMAZING! It was my first year making turkey and I was really nervous but it turned out great. I took the advise of some of others postings and made sure to get under the skin with the olive oil mixture. I also used granny smith apples in the cavity instead of stuffing. I learned that trick from my dad, it makes for a very moist turkey, and very delicious apples :-)
