Marinated Flank Steak

Reviewed: Jun. 20, 2014
Wow, this was so delicious! My husband started eating it while I was thinly slicing and when I was done he said he could eat the whole thing himself. I made it exactly as written. Used a 2.5 lb flank, I boiled for 8 minutes per side on a foiled sheet. It was so juicy. Can't wait to make poo-poos for the next gathering. This will be a huge hit! thank you :)

Venison Stew I

Reviewed: May 6, 2014
I have been trying different recipes for cooking deer for 4 years. My husband is an avid hunter and loves venison. I've found the winner! He asked me how I made it because he has never in his life had it any tastier. He said it was perfect! I'm so happy to know I finally found "the one". I didn't make a stew though I just cooked exactly as written minus adding veggies but used onion with the meat. He prefers it this way rather than a stew. I usually slow cook a roast. I wonder if this recipe could be adapted for a roast? I'll try it next time. THANKS!

Roasted Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 29, 2014
These are delicious, I will never fry onions again! I cut the large white onions into quarters, placed on one cut side then flipped over half way thru since I had two sides cut. Yummy. My hubby and I devoured them along with cold Chinese pork and Hasselback taters. Can't wait to make for guests. (I skipped balsamic vinegar)

Shrimp Alfredo Pasta

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2014
I used a 2 lb bag of frozen shrimp. Boiled in water til just cooked then strained. As a reviewer mentioned there were a lot of dishes, I managed to avoid that. After removing shrimp from pot I boiled them in, I melted about 1/4 c butter. I added shrimp to it and stirred to coat. I then placed buttered shrimp back into strainer to sit. I sauteed minced garlic and sliced mushroom in the now buttered pot. Once that was done I added the bottled 3 cheese Alfredo sauce. Heated on medium then added shrimp back to pot and continued to heat. Added chopped green onion at this point. Cooked pasta in mean time and voila! Yummy meal! I omitted cumin as well as green pepper.

Kalua Pig in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2014
I have been making kalua pig while we lived on the Islands and now on the mainland. I used to use banana leaf but now since we no longer have a banana tree in my backyard, I use 4-5 whole bananas. I poke holes all over the pork and then rub the smoke and salt all over. With fat side up, place bananas on top then on goes the lid. I cook for 3 hours high then 5-6 on low. We eat it with white rice and peas. Yummy! Also with leftovers, kalua pig nachos are great. Just layers of nacho chips, cheese, pig, then top with black olives, tomatoes, guacamole, whatever you like! This recipe is da kine grinds!

Pineapple Angel Food Cake I

Reviewed: May 12, 2013
This is the easiest and tastiest cake ever. I can't believe how good it is with such little prep and only 2 ingredients. I actually added 1/2 cup shredded coconut but may add a bit more next time. We ate the bundt cake within 2 days, just the two of us. I bought a few more angel food cake mixes and stocked up on crushed pineapple. This will be my go to dessert whether I'm in a rush with company over or whether it's just hubby and I. yummo. We're from Hawaii as is our dog and we love the pineapple, coconut combo. Topped with cool whip. Nothing sweeter than that needed. Thanks for sharing. So easy!

Cream Cheese, Garlic, and Chive Stuffed Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 29, 2012
Delicious, moist chicken (: I pounded each breast down to flatten some. Pre cooked bacon slightly. Mixed about 1/3 cup mozza in with cream cheese. Used green onion as I had no chives. Sprinkled chicken with Johnny Salt and pepper. Baked 375 for 30 min. turned out really good although next time will precook bacon more as the inside was pretty soft and would prefer it better cooked. Once I had toothpicks in place I coated chicken rolls in the butter then in Italian breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan. looked picture perfect when I took them out of the oven.

Sausage Stuffed Jalapenos

Reviewed: Sep. 10, 2012
These were so good! My husband bragged to everyone how tasty they were. I made 1.5x the recipe and filled a bunch of anaheim pepper. That was all we had in the garden. I added about a teaspoon of cayenne to the cheese/sausage mixture and a few splashes of bottled jalapeno sauce. they turned out fantastic. easy to prepare. I steam my peppers in a glass pan for 3 minutes to soften before stuffing and baking.

I did not care for this recipe. The textute was rubbery. My husband didn't like it either and he is far from a fussy eater.

The Best Unbaked Cherry Cheesecake Ever

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2012
Based on reviews...I added 2T lemon juice and used 1/2 c conf sugar instead of a cup.... used cool whip to cut time. Also for the crust,I omitted sugar and used crumbs and butter only. Had lots of left over crumbs so will cut back next time. my husband ate half of the cake in one sitting....it was delicious and i will be making this often. thank you (:

Slow Cooker Beef Stew IV

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
I'm sorry to knock the recipe just made it but this tasted like it could have come out of a can. I will stick with my usual way of making stew so it doesn't all turn to mush. The veggies should have been added hours after the beef stewed and the flour made it thicker than it should be.

Easy Coconut Cream Pie

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2012
Made a graham crust and used banana cream pudding. I also sliced 2 bananas and placed them on top of crust then poured pudding mixture over. Turned out to be coconut banana cream pie but it was all I had in the house and I love bananas anyway. Added more nutrition (: It is soooooo good. Thanks for the recipe.

Simple Baked Apples

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
I was craving baked apples and found this recipe. I followed directions almost exactly but omitted cloves. I found it very plain and the liquid wasn't sweet the way I like it. The milk made it that way I'm guessing. I also used brown sugar instead of white . Still wasn't good enough that I would ever make again. Will stick to my granny smith apple pie.

Candied Carrots

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2012
We liked the carrots, they were pretty tasty. I actually prefer sauce to be a bit thicker and it was watery. Used baby carrots. Great texture but not enough sauciness to it. Will possibly mash them next time so the flavor is all through the carrots. Instead of salt n pepper I used cinnamon
