About this Cook
I am a 60-year-old going on 40. Married to a wonderful man for 30+ years who also enjoys cooking - it's our hobby together. He's actually a better cook and not afraid to add herbs and spices.
My favorite things to cook
I love the challenge of a fancy dessert, not so much decorating but turning out a tasty, beautiful looking dessert.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Being Maltese, my family pretty much enjoys Italian and Mediterranean style, as they are both close, as well as Mideastern.
My cooking triumphs
My triumph is mastering baking, which I did not start out liking very much, since you have to be so precise with measurements, and delicate with assembling it, etc.; but, now I actually enjoy baking more so than cooking.
My cooking tragedies
In the earlier days of my cooking career, I decided to make Roast Duck. I originally invited my parents, then ended up inviting two more guests, which ended up totalling about 6, and I roasted ONE duck. We all had a very small bite.

Terri's Sloppy Joes
I have a similar recipe using 1# grd beef, med onion, 1/2 c ketchup, 1/2 c Open Pit BBQ sauce, 1 tsp prepared mustard and 2 T. brown sugar. Sometimes I add a little chopped green/sweet pepper. Very Yummy! I'll will try Terri's to compare.

Horseradish Sauce II
I used sour cream instead of heavy cream. We made little sandwiches of beef tenderloin, arugula, and vidalia onion on ciabatta. This is an easy sauce to make that is absolutely delicious. Thank You!

Quick Chicken with Asparagus and Provolone
We found this to be just "ok." The chicken was tender, but there was no flavor. I even salt & peppered the chicken before prepping. Maybe it would be better with some herbs mixed in with the bread crumbs.
