About this Cook
I'm a wife & mom, working from home. My kitchen is small with no counter space so my cooking is rather inhibited, but I do enjoy cooking and creating in the kitchen.
My favorite things to cook
I love to Bake. Baking is my favorite. But I do love quick and easy, simple ingredients, and recipes that are fresh-tasting and hearty.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Christmas time was ALWAYS a "party" in the kitchen. From snacks to cookies to candies to breads - it was always a BIG extravaganza and I enjoyed it. We enjoyed family dinners together while I was growing up, and I enjoy that with my own family now.
My cooking triumphs
Sweet potato pie. My husband flips out over it every time I make it.
My cooking tragedies
Macaroni & cheese. I followed the recipe and it came up glumpy and gloppy. It was awful.

Sourdough Scones
This is a delicious way to use some of my favorite Sourdough Starter. I've made this recipe twice in four days already. Today I used 1 tsp cinnamon and after blending in the butter, I stirred in 2 Tbsp milk and 1 small (peeled & chopped) apple and the results were amazing!!!

Amish Friendship Bread III
This is THE best bread ever. The apples make it utterly delicious! I used 2 tsp of cinnamon and omitted the nuts. I made this for my husband's 96 year old grandmother and she said I had to bring more when we visited - she never asks for anything!

Really GOOD Frosting!!!
At first, I thought this recipe was a bit too "sugary. But when I added a couple drops of peppermint flavoring, it tasted really fresh and set up so nicely, I will likely use this again!
