Chicken Roll Ups

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
Using boneless chicken tenderloin strips, I wrapped each in one piece of bacon and put them on wood skewers then placed them in the marinade. Being in Ohio in winter, it was not grilling weather. Instead, after marinating for 2 hours, I removed them to a 9x13 baking dish and baked for 30 minutes at 350, turning once. To crisp up the bacon, I pulled out my cast iron grill pan and grilled them until the bacon was crisp, basting with the BBQ sauce. These were a big hit with my picky kids.

English Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
I had been in search of a soft english muffin serve as a base for crab benedict, my new favorite breakfast indulgence! This recipe was it! I love the dense texture of the biscuit, not like those sand paper versions at the store. Yeah, these take some work but the results are so worth it!

Decadent Peanut Butter Pie

Reviewed: Jan. 21, 2009
Wow! Awesome peanut butter flavor but a tad too sweet even for my daughter's "sweet teeth" The cream cheese adds such richness. This one is a keeper!

Potato Chips

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2009
As other reviewers have said, I skipped the bag of oil step. After running my potato through the mandoline, I patted them dry on paper towels. Simply spraying my dinner plate with spray, layering them and spraying again was enough oil. Mine were done in 6 minutes. And eaten even faster! these are so fast- make them for a crowd and have them season them as they like. I used garlic and dill seasoning from one of those in-home parties. One red potato was enough to cure the munchies.

Classic Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
My new favorite cake! I made a half recipe that made 6 mini bundt cupcakes. I did make a few changes - used butter instead of shortening and butter extract, used the substitution of another on here about all-purpose flour for the cake flour and did the vinegar/milk sub for buttermilk.

Bacon Wrapped Chicken

Pretty bland. I'm not sure I'll make this again. So many better things to do with bacon and chicken!

Homemade Sage Sausage Patties

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
This is a good recipe- I like that "what is it" flavor the cheese and buttermilk give to this but I think it will be better for casseroles. It's OK as a stand on it's own sausage but not my first recipe choice.

Breakfast Sausage

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2009
My new favorite sausage recipe! I love the bit of sweetness this has -might try using maple sugar next time! I omitted the cloves (not a huge fan) My salt crazed family asked for more salt but I thought it tasted perfect!

Dutch Babies II

I enjoyed this. We added sliced apples but stayed with the written recipe for all else. It was so light, yet filling. Super easy recipe. The buttery crispy edges were my favorite bits!

The addition of vanilla gives this a more breakfast taste. It really gave it a good flavor along with the browned butter!
