Mall Pretzels

Yum! The first time I made these I missed the step where it said to let the formed pretzels rise 10 minutes so they weren't quite as good, the second time I saw the instruction and they came out perfect. We experimented with pretzel dogs and they were fantastic with this dough. New favorite thing to make. And they reheat so well too.

MMMMM... Brownies

Loved these brownies. Made them last night for my family and everyone was so impressed with how they turned out. The perfect combo of cakey and fudgey. Will definately be making these again.

Penne with Garlicky Broccolini

I don't know where I went wrong, but mine did not turn out to be the nice smokey, garlicky creation I had in mind. Instead it was a bowl of greasy pasta with broccoli and cheese that didn't taste like much of anything.

Brooke's Best Bombshell Brownies

Made these for the first time last night, brought them into work for rave reviews, and my fiance and I agree. Nice and moist, chewy but fudgy, and super simple to assemble. I followed someone elses suggestion to just whisk together the dry ingredients and that was much better than sifting. I will totally make these again, maybe with chopped nuts next time. Oh, and if you cut them big they're great for brownie sundaes.

Real Italian Calzones

I made this for my fiance and my father and both were impressed that it was "from scratch". It was quite simple to make, but didn't taste or look like it. I didn't follow the directions for the filling, using just shredded mozzarella and pepperoni as filling with a jarred sauce for dip. It was fantastic and I will certainly make this again.

Garlic Butter

Easy and yummy. I had to use A Lot of garlic salt and granulated garlic to get it as potent as I wanted it. I'll try real garlic next time.

One Bowl Brownies

I followed somebody elses directions for subbing the solid chocolate for chocolate powder, and it worked like a charm. I brought these to work and only managed to save 2 to take home for my fiance to sample.

Red Velvet Cake

Rich and chocolaty (and really fun to put green frosting on at christmas) The only reason I give this recipe 4 stars is that I cannot seem to keep the cake together when getting it out of the pan. It sticks no matter what I try and the bottom of one of the cakes always sticks and I end up gluing it back together with icing. But it tastes so good that nobody ever notices my little surgery.

Lance's French Onion Soup

Let me start with the statement that my fiance doesn't like french onion soup. He agreed to try this version, and has actually asked me to make it again... I don't put the bread on top of the soup, but I do put in plenty of cheese and we have bread to dip on the side. I find it a bit sweet, even without the sugar, so may try to find a wine thats not so sweet the next time. But it is still a quick, easy meal that reheats well.

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

This was a very simple, quick dinner that got 2 thumbs up from my fiance and myself. I marinated the chicken while it was thawing out and didn't include mushrooms (fiance hates them) and followed the advice of others and didn't dredge in flour. I see this being a family get together favorite.
