Sauerbraten IV

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2009
Very good and easy recipe - just time consuming because it must be started 3 days ahead of time. My husband especially enjoyed the sauce that he put over noodles as well as the meat.

Tuscan Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2009
I make this soup but also add some slices of pepperoni, canneloni beans, and bite sized pieces of a chicken breast. I use escarole instead spinach as I prefer its flavor. Usually will omit the milk as I prefer a more brothy style soup.

Teriyaki Onion Burgers

Reviewed: Aug. 3, 2009
I make this recipe but use fresh chopped onions instead of the fried onions specified. It's a great burger that my family enjoys

Sweet Bacon Dogs

Reviewed: Jan. 11, 2010
I made these for a New Year's Eve party. Everyone but my husband liked them. He thought they were too sweet and suggested I reduce the brown sugar to 1 cup. Haven't tried his suggestion yet.

Crispy Rosemary Chicken and Fries

Reviewed: May 24, 2010
Too strong a rosemary flavor for our tastes. If I try this recipes again I will omit the rosemary and perhaps add some onion powder.

Mom's Cucumber Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 6, 2010
Excellent & so easy to make. Everyone at our picnic raved about the delicious cucunbers. I did take other reviewers suggestion and used 1/2 mayo & 1/2 sour cream.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Nov. 16, 2010
I found this recipe a little bland. If I had added the worchestershire sauce & brown sugar as one reviewer recommended it might have been a 5 star. I could only give it 4 stars due to blandness

Balsamic Roasted Pork Loin

Reviewed: Nov. 21, 2010
Easy, delicious & very tender. I only had enough time to marinate for 1 1/2 hrs but that was plenty to give a great flavor. I think if I marinated it longer the flavor may be too strong for our taste. Will definitely make this again.

Garlic Spaghetti

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
For good flavor use a high quality olive oil, not vegetable oil. Also increase olive oil to 1/2 cup. Place olive oil in pan, then add garlic & spices. Just warm the mixture so garlic retains its tang. If garlic is browned it becomes too sweet and not at all like the "garlic & oil" spaghetti served in Italian restaurants.

Aimee's Quick Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
It was pretty good but not great. I'd make it again if I were in a real hurry for a quick supper.

Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2011
I tried to make a healthier version -if there is such a thing:) - by replacing the butter with olive oil, using non-fat half & half, and slightly less cheese. It was still very good & I really enjoyed the dish

Happy Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2011
Excellent roast chicken recipe. Even hubby liked it & he doesn't normally like roast chicken. Company raved about too. Instead of dijon (didn't have any) I sprinkled poultry seasoning all over outside of chicken. So good! Anyway, I bought dijon mustard & will try it tonight.

Easy Garlic Chicken

Very easy & very good. I did add more garlic and some parsley and used split chicken breast with bone-in. Baked in 375 degree oven for 1 hour. It was done perfectly, lightly browned & cooked through.

Strawberries in Spiced Syrup

Reviewed: Oct. 21, 2012
Added a little anise seed when making syrup. Strain to remover seeds before pouring over fruit. Absolutely delisous. I've made this with a mixture of various in-season fruits. Put in fridge for a few hours to allow flavors to meld. Makes a cool and refreshing light dessert.
