Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 8, 2011
This is very good as is. However, if I may make a few additions for a more "authentic" Mediterranean style salad: tomatoes and Persian cucumbers. Also, 2/3 cup of lemon juice is too much. The juice of 1 lemon (about 1/4 of a cup) is sufficient. Instead of the chicken, I used garbanzo beans. Thank you for the recipe!

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2012
So simple, I always get rave reviews for this. Try using the small Hawaiian Rolls to make Pulled Pork Sliders...topped with Coleslaw, they are amazing!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 11, 2011
LOVED this soup! I added shredded carrots since I had carrots on hand that I wanted to get rid of. It made it taste a little sweeter than probably would have been without them. The base of the soup is PERFECT. Will definitely make again!

Amish Macaroni Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2011
Awesome macaroni salad - needed a little more dressing and eggs for my taste. I made this the day before the BBQ, used about 3/4 of the dressing and reserved 1/4 for right before serving. I thought it needed a little more but it was still good! I used mayo instead of miracle whip. I also love eggs and thought 3 eggs was not enough for all of that macaroni. Will make again!

Quick and Easy Chicken Noodle Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2011
This was delicious! The only ingredient changes I made were to add garlic with the onions and garlic powder to the chicken (we love garlic). I also changed the cooking method of the chicken... I sauteed uncooked chicken with the veggies and then added the broth and noodles from there! This is a keeper - so delicious yet so easy.

Philly Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Dec. 23, 2010
Very tasty...company loved it. I would try adding bacon and cheese for a "loaded" mashed potato!

Ashley's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 12, 2010
These were very tasty tasty and soft. I made them as directed + the 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. I only got 2 dozen cookies though. As I was mixing the chocolate chips I thought 2 cups was way too much but then after it baked it came out great. This will be my go-to recipe.

Mexican Bean Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2012
This was a hit. The only change I made was to add a small can of sliced black olives. I would also try adding diced cucumbers to this for a watery crunch. I will definitely be making this again!

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
I scaled this down to two servings - my husband's only complaint was I didn't make enough! I followed the recipe to a T and it was great! I would try adding feta next time for variety. Follow up: I make this all the time now but make the following adjustments for personal preferences: substitute olive oil for the vegetable, substitute Pam rather than butter to toast the almonds, cut the sugar in half.

Christmas Morning Pie

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2010
I made this for breakfast and everyone thought this was great! I made only one pie but used 4 eggs instead of 3. I also used chicken saugsage with basil instead of the pork. I was able to cut 8 pieces as I had other dishes to go along with it. Will definitely make again. It was very easy to make.

Soft Christmas Cookies

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
This was a fantastic recipe with the reviewer recommendations! I made these for XMAS. I will be making again for Valentine's Day this weekend! I did use butter instead of the margarine and I used a little over 3 cups of flour, per other reviewer's suggestions. For a soft cookie, be sure to roll out the dough per instructions. Any thinner will result in a crispy cookie.

Self-Filled Cupcakes I

These were delicious. I used a package of Devil's Food cake mix. It tasted very rich but moist and delicious. I pretty much followed all the directions. Will definitely make again! Thanks for sharing this recipe!

Mongolian Beef and Spring Onions

Reviewed: Nov. 14, 2012
This dish was wonderful! I rarely fry food so I didn't realize the importance of getting the oil to the correct temperature. The first few pieces of meat that I put in the hot oil got beautifully crispy within 2 minutes. Once I added the rest of the meat, I think the temperature got too low and the meat didn't get crispy like the first few pieces. Next time I will be sure the oil is hot enough and also fry in batches. The taste was still delicious, but I prefer the crispy meat. :) I will definitely make this again!

Sloppy Joe Sandwiches

This tasted just like a sloppy joe should! Be sure to cook for the recommended time! Used turkey instead of beef... we didn't even notice the difference! Great recipe!

Best Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 12, 2013
The best chocolate chip cookie I have ever had! I added 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tarter, and since I used salted butter, I omitted the salt. I used a serving spoon to make larger bakery-size cookies. They cooked in about 13 minutes. Amazing!!

Bar Cookies from Cake Mix

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
Very easy and tasty. I used chocolate chips and butterscotch chips. I regret using so much butterscotch because it was too sweet for my taste. Otherwise, these are nice for a quick dessert.

I made this recipe to a T. I served it on top of a steak. It was definitely an easy way to prepare mushrooms! I would make it again since it was so easy.

Moroccan Tagine

Reviewed: Jan. 8, 2011
This was delicious but I made a few modifications to make it 5 stars... I added about 3 tablespoons of tomato paste to give the stew more body. I also added some allspice, curry powder, and cumin. Great healthy meal!

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2009
These were pretty good. They tasted better after they were cooled rather than right out of the oven, usually it is the other way around. I didn't have time to refrigarate the dough as others had suggested. 2 cups of chocolate chips is way too much for this amount of batter so I put in about 1.5 cups. Th flavor wasn't as fantastic as I hoped for which is why I gave it 4 rather than 5 stars. It was a soft, somewhat cakey cookie. I baked it on parchment paper so the edges didn't get that slightly brown color I was waiting for. My batter made 14 cookies. Overall, I would say this is a good recipe.
