About this Cook
Born and raise in Long Beach, CA. Married a petroleum engineer and lived all our married life in Bakersfield, California Visted the North West where 2 of our kids lived. Loved it, moved up here, the kids have since been transferred...But we're staying on because we love it here.
My favorite things to cook
Not really into the cooking scene, but I'm always looking for easy and interesting receipes. My daughters and daughter in-laws have put me on to your website. Looks like I'll be trying some new things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Can't say we have any. There's a tendency not to want to repeat mistakes.
My cooking triumphs
Toffee. Not wanting to make a trip to the market, I made some substitutions on a toffee receipe out of a well known cook book. The toffee was a great hit, and I made over 100 batches for the Boy Scouts to sell as a money making project for their summer camp. I have been pleased that so many people enjoy it and ask for the receipe. Which I am pleased to give out.
My cooking tragedies
Just about everything I've ever tried. I'm really belong outside working in in the yard.

Green Chile Frittata
Because there are just the two of us, I cut the recipe in half, but I followed the lisited directions. It was good, but I must have been expecting something different but don't know what. Next time I think I will add a touch of salsa on top to kick it up a little. Yes, I will make it again and most likely serve it to company as a step up from plain scrambled eggs.

London Broil Sauce
I followed the recipe as written and used flank steak. I was disappointed with the flank steak and will use a different cut of meat next time. On the 2ns day, I pulled the flank steak apart and added a little more milk to the sauce. I put the mixture of noodles, and it was very good. I will use the sauce mixture on other meats and very the thickness depending on how I will use it. It's a keeper.
