No, this is not a 'standard' pumpkin pie and thus, does not taste like one! It is, however, quick, tasty and unique. It has a lightness to it. My children love to make this pie, as they can do it all by themselves.

Oliebollen (Dutch Doughnuts)

A Dutch friend of mine suggested that I find a recipe for these, and am I glad he did! They were heavenly. My children immediately declared them 'apple fritters' but in any case, my double recipe disappeared long before the ball dropped on New Year's. :)

Day Before Mashed Potatoes

These came out wonderfully, creamy and delicious. Everyone at our family dinner was amazed that they had been cooked the day before and reheated. Definitely a keeper.

Baked Pineapple

Peppermint Eggnog Punch

Made this (minus the alcohol) for a church fellowship meal and it was enjoyed so much that my children requested another batch for Christmas Eve dinner. It has a refreshing flavor and looks so pretty in the punch bowl! Lovely pink color, frothy and festive. :)

Chocolate Gravy II

Classic comfort food. I would not even consider having a holiday breakfast without 'chocolate-over-biscuits!' :) I increase the liquid a bit and add a bit of vanilla. If this is not a tradition in your family, it should be! :)

Slow Cooker Spaghetti Chicken

This is a great, "child-friendly" recipe. I always add in some 'real' sharp cheddar cheese for a little more flavor, but it works well either way. Popular at church, too! Give this one a try. :)

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie

This recipe is delicious as is, and so easy to make wonderful variations. Try half semi-sweet chips and half milk chocolate chunks, then add 1/4 cup cocoa and 1/2 cup chopped pecans for decadent 'brownie cookies.' My children will not leave these alone long enough for them to cool completely. Also a big hit at church social.

Awesome and Easy Creamy Corn Casserole

This has quickly become a much-requested new family favorite! Nothing but compliments from everyone from grandparents through my very finicky husband and five children with completely different tastes in most things! ;) Last time added a bit of chopped onion into batter and crumbled bacon on top and it was a welcome addition. A recipe well worth trying! :)
