Best Ever Brisket

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2011
I cannot believe how INCREDIBLE this brisket recipe is or how much my kids LOVED it! I did back off on the chili powder as they don't like things too spicy, but it is crazy easy to make and tastes like you slaved on it. Thank you for sharing it with us!!!

Bev's Orange Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2010
This was not orange chicken the way I'm used to it or expected it, but it was a good chicken dish. I would recommend it if you want to try something new, but I don't think its going to replace your favorite chicken recipe. But for a change and something a little different, its worth the effort.

Slow Cooker Sweet and Tangy Chicken

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2010
SAVE the sauce!!! We had leftovers and while the chicken was not dry when reheated, having the extra sauce and putting it over rice was a GREAT (and low effort) second meal! Also, your choice of BBQ sauce is key. I used a honey BBQ sauce which was good, but I think you'll want to find something with a relatively milder taste as its easy for "bolder" tasting sauces to overpower the pineapple and dominate the flavor of the chicken. So choose wisely, but this is a recipe SURE to delight!

Beef Teriyaki

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2010
I found this had excellent flavor, though I did add a dash more soy sauce and I seasned the grilling beef with kosher salt as in my experience letting thin slices of meat boil away on its own results with an odd taste that never gives way to the sauce. In this case, however, the kosher salt and the extra bit of soy sauce and this was one OUTSTANDING dish!

Vanilla Crepes

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2010
These were WONDERFUL and had a great taste all on their own. Anything you add to them makes them even better. One thing...I added more milk because I like my crepes VERY thin and these were on the thicker side. But if you want a simple and DELICIOUS shot at crepes, this is it!

Garlic Top Sirloin Pot Roast

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
Sorry to say, despite following every step to the letter, I found this to be a bit on the bland side. Maybe it was just me, but I expected and usually enjoy a much stronger flavor in pot roast. I'm also surprised it didn't include celery. I will add that next time if I make this again.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
My only regret...I didn't have more of it. :) Yes, the sauce is VERY creamy, but it cooks into the fish and yet doesn't overcome the fish itself. FANTASTIC!

Creamy Au Gratin Potatoes

Reviewed: Oct. 25, 2009
As delicious as this sounded to make, I was SO tempted to bake it without the foil covering for the last 20 minutes or so, and maybe I will because my family LOVES a crispy coating on potatoes au gratin, but just as it is this is an outstandingly good and easy to prepare receipe. YUMM!!!

French Toast II

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
WOW! This was AMAZING! (And no mushy middle as SublimeMind82 reported.) Not only is this exceedingly easy to make, and LOOKS fantastic (thank you, nutmeg), but the aroma that fills the kitchen and the house is incredible. I will never go back to generic French Toast...this is our new standard. :)

Simple Sassy Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 19, 2009
I made this on a whim as I needed a quick and yummy salmon recipe. My daughter proclaimed "I don't like Salmon!", but I made it anyway and I knew I had a winner when part-way through dinner she looks at me and says "This is to Salmon what In-N-Out is to burgers". And if you live in the western states of the US and have been to In-N-Out, you know that is a HECKUVA big compliment! I actually had three halves of salmon and I doubled the recipe...it was perfect!

Deep Fried Dill Pickles

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
This is a very good (basic) recipe. I call it "basic" because it provides the most flexibility of any I found for customizing. For example, I made it with my daughter, and being 10, she would not have wanted hot and spicy pickles. So we omitted the spicier ingredients and decreased the black pepper from 3/4 tsp to 1/4 tsp. We made it together and the result was WONDERFUL! I'm including a pic of our final result. :)
