Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2011
After reading the reviews I was excited about contributing this salad to a pot luck dinner. I bought all of the ingredients and enthusiastically prepared this dish down to a t. The dressing tasted like watery ground onion... never grate onion! I didn't think the ingredients complimented each other at all. I'm not sure what I could have changed to make it any better. I love every ingredient involved but it just didn't come together. To suggest a better alternative would be a different salad all together. This recipe has taught me to never trial a new recipe before trying it myself beforehand.

Angie's Dad's Best Cabbage Coleslaw

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
If you want to be the center of attention at any lunch- make this recipe. I would change absolutely nothing! sometimes I add glops of different types of ready made mustard (wholegrain, deli, dijon) and it always comes out perfect. I do put a little less salt- to keep it healthier for particular guests!

Dry Ranch Style Seasoning for Dip or Dressing

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
i LOVE this quick and easy recipe. I usually shake it with skimmed milk, a glop of mayo and a tsp of cider vinegar... making it the absolutely perfect Ranch Dressing after an hour in the fridge! I've used this recipe a million times- and plan to a million times again!

Indian Cauliflower

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
followed the recipe word for word- it definitely needed an extra 30 mins in the oven (that may be due to my fan assisted oven and the fact i have to reduce recommended temperatures to avoid burning)- but if I made this recipe again- I think I would cook the topping with the cauliflower from the start- in a casserole dish. I thought the topping did not infuse properly with the cauliflower- making it plain ol' cauliflower with some tomato puree glopped on top of it. It certainly was not the highlight of my Indian dinner last night for my party of six.

Indian Style Basmati Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2011
I think ground cumin would have been much better for this recipe. I would also add 2 extra cardamoms. I will make this recipe again- but with my own twist- the recipe as is is lacking a little something.

I followed the recipe word for word... perfect! Next time I will experiment with a little more garlic, or raisins, sesame seeds etc. This is a non fail recipe. My guests last night voted it the highlight of the meal. Thanks Mic!

Arugula-Fennel Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
After experiencing (and loving!) a Stilton/fennel salad at a local restaurant - I quickly went and bought 5 fennels- with no idea how to make it. This was a crunchy and rich recipe I'll be adding to the recipe book. I also made a version with romaine lettuce instead of arugula and added a little white balsamic- refreshing!!!! Thanks Chrissiek:)

Thai Curry Soup

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2010
This recipe is perfect- and my 2010 crowd pleaser. I have made this recipe on 4 occasions the past 6 weeks. First time exactly as the recipe was written. Second time I used green curry paste- equally as delicious. Third time I made it with chicken- again great. Tonight I am experimenting with yellow curry paste and strips of turkey. I cannot wait!!! It always looks amazing in the bowl- my guests have no idea how simple it is to make and always comment on all my effort- if only they knew! Thanks for sharing!
