About this Cook
I love cooking and baking and find it very relaxing and inspiring! As my 4 children have all flown the nest by now and I'm working, I don't get to cook/bake as much as I would like... But I always like to try new things! As my DH always says, I love to cook & he loves to eat! A match made in heaven!
My favorite things to cook
As I have lived in a few countries, and as student with many nationalities, I love all sorts of food and always enjoy getting new recipes to try out! I am especially fond of Indian & Japanese cooking (Sushi)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I think my family is so spread out (Europe), that there are many different traditions, particular in the area of baking
My cooking triumphs
I love experimenting with bread recipes to get a variety of breads that taste like the ones that I miss from growing up in germany.Getting feed back from people here, who love these breads as much as my family does, makes my day!
My cooking tragedies
Too many to name, but happily many more success stories!

Roasted Duck
Made this for Easter dinner today minus the melted butter, as duck has plenty of fat anyway! The skin was crispy, tasty and fought over... Yummy! Will use this for my go-to duck recipe!

Spinach Stuffed Portobello Mushrooms
Made this for my DD, who is vegetarian,as substitution for turkey for christmas dinner. She loved it and as I was allowed to taste, so did I. A keeper for special events, when a vegetarian is joining us!

Southwestern Turkey Soup
This is yummy! I did cook it in the slow cooker, which meant the house gave me a super aromatic welcome! Tasted as good as it smelled! Only thing I did different is, I left out the avocado!
