I cook for about 50 or more men in a church lunch group. We have a variety of menus, mostly adapted from a recipe for 6 or 8, and expand it to the number we plan on serving each month. I started cooking about 14 years ago for this church group since no one else volunteered. several other men help out in the kitchen, making salads, cleaning pots and pans, helping prep the meals, make the coffee, set the tables, set up the serving line, and keep things clean, neat, and orderly.
My favorite things to cook
We try most anything, from Chicken, Beef, Venison, Pork dishes. Favorites include Chicken Cacciatore, Cordon Bleu, Chicken Marsala, Chicke Reuben, Beef stroganoff, bourgundy, Stuffed loin of pork, stuffed pork chops, Swiss steak, Meat Loaf.
My cooking triumphs
Preparing a dinner for 150 attendees to a church conference; a yearly mens/womens association dinner of 120; a Chicken cordon bleu dinner for 45 church leaders.
My cooking tragedies
Preparing four dozen Klamath Bakers (wonderful potato) for a lunch and have most all of them fail to bake completely after two hours in the oven.
