Moist and delicious! I CHANGED IT SLIGHTLY BY ADDING AN ADDITIONAL TABLESPOON OF BROWN SUGAR AND A PINCH OF NUTMEG.

Classic Lasagna

I loved it. I didn't add the sausage, so I halved the seasonings and added slightly less sauce. I also didn't cook it an hour and a half. I cooked it 40 minutes covered, 10 minutes uncovered (added the extra mozzarella at this point) and then took it out and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. It was delicious! I quickly replaced this recipe with my old lasagna recipe.

Moist, Tender Spice Cake

This recipe was a near disaster for me. For starters, the batter was so thick and dough-like that my mixer stopped working. I couldn't even get the dark brown sugar worked in. I added an extra egg and some more milk than called for because otherwise the dough would've been a rock. Once I added the milk and egg it turned into the consistency of regular cake batter. The cake turned out good, but it could've used just a little more spice flavor. I probably should've added more spice after adding the additional egg and milk. The consistency was also not as moist as I had hoped. I would give the flavor of the cake 3.5/5 (good) but I took away a star for the prep. I followed the directions perfectly, so I"m still not sure what happened.

Pasta Shells with Portobello Mushrooms and Asparagus in Boursin Sauce

I had high expectations for this based on the reviews but was let down. My sauce turned out too thin, even after I added cornstarch. Was the broth supposed to be added to the mushrooms early so that they would suck up the juice and the broth would reduce? It wasn't clear in the recipe, so I added the broth at the same time that I added the cheese, so maybe that was the problem. I also added garlic to the sauce, and used the Boursin Red Pepper cheese, but I still found it a little bland. If I make this again, I'll try the Boursin garlic and herb and maybe a larger less expensive version, and less broth or reduced broth.

Sticky Sesame Chicken

After adding a dash or two of ginger and garlic, the marinade was pretty good, however, it was very watery and didn't coat the chicken well. I felt like I wasted the majority of the seasame seeds and soy mixture. Also, the marinade ran off the chicken while cooking and burned onto the pan and scorched the chicken. Also, I used chicken tenderloins because that cut down the prep time. Needless to say, this was a very messy meal and I don't think it is worth making again.

Parmesan Sage Pork Chops

The breading was excellent, and the recipe was easy to follow. For some reason, I prefer sauces on breaded meat. I don't eat just breaded meat on its own, and I think this could use a little sauce to complement it, but I'm not sure what sauce would work. Suggestions?

Banana Cheesecake with Caramel Sauce

It makes a lot of cheesecake, but good cheesecake. I used two premade crusts, and I also used premade caramel sauce, which really cut down on the time, but didn't sacrifice flavor.I really enjoyed this!

Curry Mango Chicken

I reduced the amount of Water for the rice to a half cup, and the rice came out sticky but not soupy. This recipe was good, but very spicy. If you don't like too much spice, add the pinch of red pepper flakes to the chicken, but leave the rice alone. This does take a lot of time to prepare, so make things ahead, or start early!

Molasses-Glazed Pork Tenderloin

I took someone's recommendation for using 1/2 c molasses and 1/2 cider vinegar. It still made a ton of marinade. I marinated my pork for about 24 hours. I thought the flavor was good, but it was missing something.

Baked Ziti II

I only used 15 oz of mozzarella, and I didn't use an entire 32 oz jar of sauce...I think it was 2 10 oz jars. I liked the suggestion of bread crumbs. This recipe is good-I would have used the 24 oz of ricotta, but my boyfriend thought the 15 was too much!! And I used Ragu sauce, which tends to be blander (stay away from Ragu!)
