Clone of a Cinnabon

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2010
AWESOME. Only thing I did differently was to add flax seed to the cinnamon swirl mixture. Next time might try half whole wheat flour just to see if a difference is noticeable.

Magic Peanut Butter Middles

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I took other reviewers advice and added 2 tbsp milk to the dough and also only added 1/4 cup confect sugar to the filling, still had leftover filling. Assembly was annoying and I didn't feel a payoff, but they were a hit at a party!

Dirt Cake I

Reviewed: Jul. 13, 2009
So delicious! I used only 1 package of oreos and it was plenty (noticed it was less than 32 oz). Next time I will omit the butter, I don't think its necessary.

Red Velvet Cake

Reviewed: Jun. 18, 2009
This was disappointing, it didn't have the fluffy texture I was expecting and wasn't as chocolate-y as I wanted. Next time I will: add an egg, add tsp of baking powder and an extra 1/4 cup of cocoa OR 1/4 cup melted chocolate.

Easy Morning Glory Muffins

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2009
FINALLY - the perfect muffin recipe! I did reduce sugar to 3/4 cup b/c over a cup seems too much, and they were perfectly sweet. I will attempt applesauce next time as other reviewers have noted, the oil did make them sort of greasy, but very moist!

Cornbread I

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
My skillet was too big for this recipe, so I lined a muffin pan instead. The batter was VERY liquidy, so I made 4 muffins according to recipe, then added 1/2 cup of flour, made 4 muffins with that, then added another 1/4 cup to the remaining batter and made 4 of those....overall the 4 with the most flour came out best, but these were not tasty. They also stuck to the paper liners. Not planning on making these again.

Asparagus with Sliced Almonds and Parmesan Cheese

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
Awesome! For healthier variation when I made a second time, I steamed the asparagus, toasted the almond briefly at 350 in the oven, then plated and sprinkled parm cheese on top, drizzled w/EVOO.

Whole Wheat and Honey Pizza Dough

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
I didn't give this 5 stars because it wasn't very crust-like. It was a great tasting bread-y product, but not the right texture expected for a pizza crust. Will definitely use again for breadsticks :)

Healthier Graham Cracker Crust

Reviewed: Apr. 30, 2009
Crust wasn't very crust-like. Very soft and took away from the flavor of the dish as a whole (I used this for a peanut butter cheesecake). I think it's b/c of the yogurty twang. I imagine this would work best for a chocolate pudding type of pie.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
These tasted...healthy. I love to eat healthy, but never noticed a recipe that tasted so bland. Since I don't like to load up on sugar, it's silly to sweeten this up. Don't plan on making again. Very fluffy though!

Jo's Rosemary Bread

Reviewed: Apr. 6, 2009
The best bread yet. I used fresh rosemary from my garden. Will definitely make again. Similar to an Italian herb bread I've made with parmesan cheese - try adding 1.4 cup of the parm cheese next time and you will love it even more!

Sweet Potato Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2009
Very good. I took reviewers' advice and used reduced sugar to 1 cup and used 1/2 cup white and 1/2 cup brown. I also added craisins and made these in muffin form so that it's easier to freeze and take to work for a snack. Next time I'm going to add extra sweet potato.

Blonde Brownies I

Not impressed, not turned off. It's ok. But if I'm going to go through the trouble of baking something from scratch - it is better off a true brownie.

Alison's Gluten Free Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 9, 2009
I give this 2 starts b/c the proportion of ingredients isn't right in the recipe. It would be soupy if you followed the directions. Either half the milk content, or add 3-4 MORE cups of flour than the recipe calls for. The end product was very delicious, a dense bread great with butter--but only b/c we added about 4 additional cups of flour.
