PHILADELPHIA Chocolate-Vanilla Swirl Cheesecake

Reviewed: Dec. 25, 2009
Wow. I made this cheesecake in a springform pan, and it was a bit too much batter - I should've cut it back a bit. But it tasted phenomenal.

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
The meat was quite good - nice and tender. The gravy was too strong, and had too much wine. . . but I'm not a wine drinker, so that could've been just me.

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
Super delicious. Added a sprinkle of garlic powder with salt and pepper on each layer of potatoes, and finely sliced onions for a bit of extra flavour. The whole family raved about them!

Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
Positively delicious. I added 1 extra potato, but other than that followed the recipe to a tea and it was wonderful!

Spaghetti Carbonara II

Reviewed: Feb. 17, 2009
It was absolutely incredible. The only think I added was 1/2 cup of Half & Half cream with the eggs.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
The sprouts were okay - a bit too much pepper for our tastes. But they weren't anything to write home about, and I won't be making them again.

Maple Dill Carrots

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2009
Quite delicious, but the amount of dill is way too much. I only put in the 1 tablespoon and it was too much. 1 teaspoon would probably be about right.

Garlic Creamed Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 5, 2008
I'm not a huge chicken fan at all, but I quite liked this recipe. But the family loved it. Only things I did differently were: browned the chicken in a bit of olive oil before slicing it up, doubled the garlic, grated a bit of parmesan cheese overtop of the chicken before pouring the sauce on, and then baked covered for 30 minutes, and then uncovered for 30 minutes. The sauce was a perfect consistency! The garlic smell was a bit strong, but it tasted great. The colour was a bit bland (read: colour only), so may try putting a few veggies like peas or carrots in next time. But it was super easy and super delicious!

Alysia's Basic Meat Lasagna

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2008
I'm just starting out cooking, and this was a great recipe to make. My family loved it, said it was the best lasagna they've ever tasted. The only thing I would do differently next time is make just a little more sauce. The last layer was stretched a bit thin. But it tasted wonderful!
