Creamy Parsnip With Ginger Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2009
My irish boyfriend could not believe that I had turned a vegetable he hates into such a delicious soup! I omitted the allspice and used heavy cream instead of milk. I also used only 2 cups of stock because we like our soup very thick. The dried fruit make a great addition!

One word: AWESOME! I doubled the cream, as suggested, as it was a great success.

Cream of Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2009
I give it four stars because I was not crazy about it but my boyfriend loved it. If you don't LOVE the taste of sweet potatoes don't make this soup.

Winter Fruit Salad with Lemon Poppyseed Dressing

It's very good. I would just cut on the sugar and oil to decrease the calories.

Followed to recipe in everything but added only 2 cups and 1/2 broth. I like it thicker!

Figs and Toasted Almonds Brie

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2009
AWESOME! Classy and delicious. I baked the brie for 10 minutes but that was too much and it melted (though the gooey cheese was scrumptious too), so I recommend checking it while it's in the oven. What am I going to do when the figs are out of season.Did anybody try using figs preserve or jam.

Pizza with Pepper, Onion and Feta

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I was also nervous before making this, but the result was very good. I followed the suggestions of the other reviewers and roasted the veggies in advance and put some sundried tomato pesto on the dough. I increased the feta to 1 cup and 1/2 (200 grams) and it makes it richer.

Bavarian Apple Torte

Reviewed: Oct. 7, 2009
I give it 4 stars because maybe I botched it a bit by baking it in a bigger pan. It was very thin and sticky. Next time I'll try a smaller container.

Rich and Creamy Tomato Basil Soup

Reviewed: Oct. 3, 2009
Absolutely delicious. I did not have enough tomato juice so I substituted one cup of it with tomato paste (which also made it thicker). What really makes it great is the butter and cream, so although I was a bit uncertain whether to add all that fat or not I followed the recipe and it was well worth it! I served with grilled cheese sandwiches on a chilly Autumn night.... and that's what I call confort food!

Pear and Prosciutto Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 22, 2009
I will definitely make this again. My only suggestion is to cut the pears in thin slices, probably skipping the pre-baking of them. Those chunks were definitely too big.

Fresh Pea Soup

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
This was delicious! I used 4 cups of frozen peas and chicken stock instead of water. I let the liquid boil off almost to the point that there was none left, then I processed it. Came out thick and velvety!

Spicy Indian Chicken and Mango Curry

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
Very good though quite bland. The amount of coconut milk and mango puree overpowers the curry. I was afraid of putting too much curry, as I hate spicy food, but this was too bland even for my taste. Next time I will try adding more spices to the chicken, or to the puree. But I will definitely make this again! Great with naan bread made according to the recipe on this website.

Naan

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2009
thumbs up! I just made a batch of fantastic naan bread! One suggestion: I used a dry skillet instead of the grill and the cooking time decreases dramatically! I burned the first piece of bread and then I only left it for max 1 minute! I could not believe it could cook so quickly but I've just tried a bit and it's PERFECT! Yummy! Thanks for a great recipe!

Good recipe. I followed the recipe exactly and I did not have great quality ingredients at hand but it still came out very nice. I will make it again following the reviewers' suggestions.

Yogurt Watercress Quichelettes

Reviewed: Sep. 13, 2009
The recipe did not say at which temperature so I baked it at 356F. I baked it for 25 minutes because i did not have small forms, so I used one that is about 5 inches. The filling is very good but I recommend reducing the cayenne pepper because like this it is very spicy! maybe 1/2 teaspoon, 1/4 would be enough. The dough is very moist and hard to roll. Maybe it would be better to use a pie shell recipe. I give it 4 stars because it tastes very good and looks pretty, but it needs adjustments

Jamie's Cranberry Spinach Salad

Good salad. I would cut on the vinegar, or choose a good variety of white balsamic, as it is ways too tangy like this.
