Sheila's Perfect Sangria

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2011
Absolutely wonderful! There really is a lot of fruit so if you aren't one to eat it, lessen it by about half. However I think that is the best part and love to eat what is leftover. The only changes I made (based on budget concerns and what was on hand) were I omitted the pineapple and added 2 fresh peaches, and I omitted the lemon and lime juice and lemon-lime soda altogether. I honestly did not think they were necessary. Overall a wonderful sangria and I love that you can play with it based on what is available in your house!

Scones

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
These are amazing! I did take a few suggestions from other reviewers by putting the egg in the measuring cup and then adding the milk. As well as I used about 1/4 cup heavy cream and 3/4 cup milk (That is before the egg addition), but I did not use anywhere near all of that mixture. I added 2 tsp cinnamon and about 1/2 cup chocolate chips, and drizzled chocolate ganache on them. Be careful when you bake these as 1 min over and they will become rather dry.

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: May 4, 2011
Great recipe! The texture is my ideal cookie, crisp on the outside, chewy inside. The only thing I may change is to add a bit more sugar. They are already sweet, but I just like a very sweet sugar cookie. I read some of the reviews and people said their dough was crumbly or dry. If this is the case, your butter was probably not fully softened. Make sure it is room temperature, and if it still seems crumbly, just get your hands into the dough and work it a bit. The heat from your hands will help it soften up a bit. Happy Baking!

Heavenly White Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 4, 2011
Wonderful recipe! I did use AP flour because I was out of cake and it came out perfect. Do add the extra 1/2 cup of milk and measure your flour after you sift. You really should sift it at least 3 times. Also, fold in the egg whites to keep the air in them. Perfectly moist and wonderful tasting cake (or cupcakes in my case, got about 25). Will definitely use again!

Scrumptious Penuche Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
The taste is wonderful, but make sure that you can work quickly. I followed the instructions to a T and unfortunately it got hard rather quickly and made it very difficult to spread onto a layer cake. If anyone has suggestions as to how to make it a little softer I would appreciate it!

McCormick® Gingerbread Men Cookies

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
This is the best gingerbread cookie recipe I have tried. Wonderful flavor and a nice soft cookie. If you like the crunchy gingerbread cookie, I don't think this is the recipe for you.

Cinnamon Coffee Cake I

Reviewed: Jan. 16, 2009
This recipe was amazing. It was so dense and it rose about 4-5 inches above my pan when it baked! Only thing I would suggest is if you are using a tube pan to use a plastic bag and "pipe" the batter in so that you can get more layers of the cinnamon mixture. Also I didn't even use half of the topping mixture. I guess I just didnt use enough?
