Thick Cut-Outs

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
These were okay. I used them for special decorated cookies so they looked great, but were very dry and hard. I would be greatly disappointed if I had made them just for taste/texture. Very "animal cracker" like. They held up nicely to cutting and decorating, but I'm still on the lookout for a good sugar cookie recipe.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
Holy cow! This stuff is amazing! I had never made a carrot cake before and this one turned out wonderfully. Everyone loved it, even those who normally don't care for carrot cake. The only change I made was to soak the raisins in some warm water for a few minutes before adding, and I think it was a good idea. I used 'Cream Cheese Frosting II' from this site and this cake was to die for. This is definitely a keeper!

Yum! I coated the mushrooms in butter and added a little more parmesan cheese on top. Great!

Finally a great cream cheese frosting recipe! The taste is wonderful and more than sweet enough for a true cream cheese frosting. Perfect!

Hummingbird Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
Amazing! I didn't think I'd like it just reading the ingredients, but I tweaked the recipe a little bit and this came out to be one of the best cakes I've ever tasted. I reduced the oil to 1 cup and didnt drain the pineapple. I added a touch more vanilla and cinnamon and also mashed half of the bananas. In between layers I put a layer of sliced bananas and pineapple. I ommitted any nuts and instead used coconut on the top and sides. I dusted my pans with cinnamon sugar which gave the cake a nice soft sort of crust. I also used a different cream cheese frosting recipe that wasn't as sweet as this one. Yummy!

Chocolate Peppermint Candies

These are fantastic! I used Wilton gel colors to give them a marble red and green effect for Christmas. I'll definitely be using this recipe often.

Christmas Turtle Candies

I combined reviews to keep the caramel from becoming too hard. These tasted great, but I had a problem with the chocolate. As soon as it was touched it completely melted everywhere and it was a big mess.

Sugar Cookie Glaze

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
I used milk instead of the syrup (which did turn it white) and it came out wonderfully! It's a little thin, but easy to thicken and tastes great.
