About this Cook
My favorite things to cook
I like to make anything sweet, because that's what my family loves best.
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't cook very much at my house, but every Christmas we crank up the oven and make these delicious chocolate covered coconut balls. Yummy :)
My cooking triumphs
Thanks to some of my past successes using this site's recipies, I was able to convince my mother to let me take over much of this year's Thanksgiving meal. Everything turned out great!
My cooking tragedies
One of the first times I cooked by myself, I decided to be a bit daring and make my mom's famous peanut butter balls. The recipie called for 1 lb 10X sugar. Having no idea what that was, I just used regular white sugar. It was a DISASTER!!! To make it worse, my boyfriend was there, and now whenever I cook something new he brings it up.

Meatloaf with Fried Onions and Ranch Seasoning
Best meatloaf I've ever made OR had!! I couldn't find my loaf pans, so I baked the mixture in a muffin pan, and only had to cook them for 30 mins. Not only was it quicker, it also gave us the idea to reuse the leftovers to make meatloaf subs. Yummm!

Best Ever Pie Crust
This recipe is amazing! I was a bit nervous at first about how much shortening was in it but it turned out really well. I've never had a crust that was so nice and flaky! I used a milk wash to make it look nice and golden, but other than that I didn't make any changes to the recipe. I'm so glad I found this. My old pie crust recipe is officially in the trash!!!
