Crispy Orange Beef

Reviewed: Mar. 5, 2013
This is phenomenal. I was able to get my beef crispy. I do not think you can use stew meat if you want to achieve this. I had a round steak that I sliced thin and did as the recipe instructed. The beef was wonderfully crispy. I did not have frozen orange juice I just used regular orange juice. I did double the sauce recipe so I could put some on the broccoli. This was a hit and will become a regular meal at my house. No more wasting money on take out for this!

New Red Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2012
I love that this recipe is very simple. Easy to throw this together. I did change a few things. Because of my lack of mayo, I used 1cup olive oil mayo and 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt. The yogurt made it too sour so I had to add some sugar. I also omitted the celery. It was very good. No one else would eat it. I think they were snobbish to traditional egg and mustard potato salad. I ate the whole thing as left overs . I will make it again.

Glorified Hash Browns

Reviewed: Apr. 17, 2012
The are pretty good just as instructed. I didn't change anything and they were good. I think I might like to try it with hash brown shreds and see how that works. I will make these again.

Easy Cheesy Chicken Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jan. 31, 2012
I liked the simplicity of this recipe. I did not change anything and it tasted wonderfu. My daughter did not like the onions, but that is what is expected. I will be making this again.

I have to give this 5 stars because my very picky 10-year-old daughter loves this. I followed the reciped exactly and it turned out delicious. This will certainly become a staple in our family.

Rosemary Shortbread Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
These are ok. No one but myself liked them. I will not be making them again simply because I do not need to be eating a whole batch of cookies on my own. The dough was crumbly and hard to handle for myself. I thought I had followed the recipe to a T but potentially something was wrong.

Slow Cooker Creamed Corn

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
Fansatic! I used corn that I had frozen off the cob from the summer. Maybe that is why it was so delicious. Very simple and a quick recipe to share at potlucks. Everyone who had some loved it.

Green Bean and Bacon Saute

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
This is such an easy recipe, but very flavorful. Of course, bacon can only make things better. I might omit the red pepper flakes next time simply because some people were fearful that it would be too spicy and did not even try it.

Peachy Rice Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2011
I love this salad! It is a bit pastey, but that could be of my own doing. I only use greek yogurt, so potentially it would have been more moist if I had used "regular" yogurt. I will most definately use this again!

I made this for a girl scout get together. It was fantastic. It is easy to put together and tastes delicious. My seven year old daughter did not care for it. I gave it 5 stars because I liked it.

Onions Baked with Rosemary and Cream

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2011
These are super easy to make! I took them to a family meal and only those who like onions would eat them. So I cannot say that those who do not like onions will eat them. I thought they tasted like breadless onion rings. I would definately make them again.

Alice's Sour Cream Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Mar. 22, 2011
I thought this recipe was great! I don't normally make recipes that call for wine so this was new for me. You most definately could taste the wine. Because of this, my daughter did not like it. I think the next time I will try with less or no wine. But, overall num num. I also did it on the stove because I didn't trust any of my bowls in the microwave for that long. This will most definately make it to my table many more times!

Oven Roasted Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I probably would have given this 3 stars, but because this simply was not for me nor my daughter, I gave it two. I followed the recipe except that I used skinless boneless chicken breast. Truly they turned out fine. I guess it just was not what I was expecting. The filling was kind of dry, not the chicken, it was moist. My daughter described the filling as "old flour." The taste is bland. I probably won't make these again, but for someone else, this recipe maybe perfect.

Baked Cheese Olives

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
These were not that tedious to make. I would expect some time to roll each olive. Why I did not like this is because, after being baked, the crust is very dry and flaky. I would like it much more if it was more moist and soft, not flaky. The taste reminded me of a butter cracker with an olive on it. Not too bad, but not fantastic either. I probably will not make these again.

Individual Baked Eggs

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
These are definately a different way to make your eggs. I did like it, however I did do one thing different. I wrapped two pieces of bacon around the muffin cup instead of one. There was room for two so I figured I would add it. My daughter did not care for them, but her friend did. These are certainly worth the try.

Red Lentil Curry

Reviewed: Jan. 23, 2011
This is fantastic!! It is super easy to make. I did it exactly as it was written and it was delicious! I have to admit, no one else in my house liked it, but they tend not to like anything different from a burger and fries. I love both lentils and curry so I had to try this. It does make quite a bit so I froze some. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Pie II

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2010
This recipe was a life saver!! I didn't have any evaporated or sweetened condensed milk like most other pumpkin pie recipes call for. So I hunted and found this treasure! I made this for my daughter's birthday party. She requested homemade pumpkin pie instead of cake. Instead of canned pumpkin, I baked two pie pumpkins and it worked just great. This was a hit at the party. One girl's mother spoke to me several weeks later and asked for the recipe because her daughter raved about it so much. I didn't really follow the spice amounts. I just added however much I felt like and it worked perfect! You cannot miss with this recipe!

Pat's Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
I made this for a family get together and everyone liked it. One person raved about it. Personally, I thought it was a bit to molassesy (if that's a word) for me. I used kidney, cannelinni, pinto, northern, and baked beans. I would probably make this again.

Shrimp Pad Thai

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2010
I wish I would have read the reviews before I made this. This was very disappointing. I will say that maybe it did not turn out because I have never attempted to cook Thai food before. That being said, the dish was all paste. Everything stuck to eachother. It was a big ball of pastey noodles. It was also very bland. I am used to a little kick in the pad thai that I get from restaurants. My 8 year old loved it. She will eat the left overs because the rest of us certainly will not.
