Steve's Chicken Korma

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2010
I've only had Korma in an Indian restaurant once, and it didn't taste like this. This dish tasted very similar to chicken curry without any bite.

Chicken Diablo

Reviewed: Feb. 15, 2010
The sauce in this recipe is just awesome! I used Texas Pete for the hot sauce so it wasn't too hot for our guests that may not eat as much hot food as our family does. Served the chicken over rice and made an extra helping of sauce to drizzle over the top. A keeper recipe for sure!

Pakistani Potato Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
This dish was good, not great... but good. I think it needs a bit of spicing up and I'll have to look through some of the other reviews to see what others have recommended. I made the recipe exactly as it is written here and it just didn't quite cut it.

Moroccan Tagine

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2010
I don't think I've ever eaten butternut squash before, and with all the other vegetables in this dish I didn't think the kids would enjoy this dish. I thought it was fantastic and as my teenager son's friends came down to try it, and came back for seconds I was pretty sure I was on to something!

Boneless Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Feb. 9, 2010
Unbelievable. I made these for SuperBowl 44 (Go Saints) and they were absolutely fantastic. I've bought many orders of hot wings in my life that didn't even hold a candle to these. I used various hot pepper sauces on the different batches of wings from medium hot to scorching and they were all awesome! I'll definitely be making these again.

Japanese Shrimp Sauce I

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2010
This was a pretty good base recipe. As always I made the recipe exactly as specified. The only thing I didn't like is that the rice vinegar taste was a bit too much. I also wasn't sure if white sugar was the same as regular sugar. I'll read some of the other reviews and see what I can add. Made this for SuperBowl 44 and everyone else seemed to really like it.

Chicken Curry Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2009
My first attempt at chicken salad. I generally try to make the recipe exactly as specified the first time but I read through the reviews and decided to make a few additions. I added dried cranberries, green onions, and some almond slivers. The recipe came out fantastic! I even used extra hot curry powder but it couldn't have been too hot to handle because there were no leftovers. I've also had a request to make more tonight!

Chicken Curry III

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2009
I cooked this last night and while it was completely consumed by lunch time today it could have been better. First and foremost I substituted concentrated coconut for the coconut milk and secondly it was just kind of bland. This recipe needs to be hotter!! The potatoes added a nice touch to this recipe that my youngest son liked. This is a pretty good starter recipe and with a little tweaking I think it would be very good indeed!

Broccoli Cheese Cornbread

Reviewed: Mar. 10, 2009
This past weekend my 9 year old son found this recipe and thought it sounded good. He made it from start to finish and it turned out great. We will definitely be making this again.

Island Kielbasa in a Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 20, 2009
I love kielbasa and recently I have fallen in love with my slow cooker as well. What I didn't like about this recipe was the fact that it contains pineapples. I read the other reviews and decided to cut the sugar in half and I decided to add an onion. After I threw everything in the crock pot it just didn't look spicy enough. I added 1 tbls of Caribbean spice. I took this as kind of a potluck dish to another family members dinner. The idea being that if this tasted awful we would still have another dinner to fall back on! There was no need for worry, this dish was amazing. I served it over basmasti rice and it was absolutely delicious. I will make this again and try it with shrimp next time, maybe even chicken.

Slow Cook Thai Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 2, 2009
I have only recently discovered Thai food, and I love it. The main criticism of this dish is that it is not "authentic" and that may be, but don't let that keep you from trying it! I loved this dish and so did my family. We ate it while watching the Steelers win Superbowl 43!! I decided to modify it just a little as some other reviewers suggested. I added a half cup of chicken broth and decreased the peanut butter to a half cup. I served it with Basmati rice and it was delicious. I will certainly make this again and probably try to spice it up a little. I actually started eating it without the garnishes of green onion, peanuts and cilantro and the recipe was a little bland. I guess I was too into the game but once I realized I left the garnishes off I quickly added them and they make a HUGE difference.

Gobi Aloo (Indian Style Cauliflower with Potatoes)

Reviewed: Dec. 16, 2008
I loved this recipe! I prepared this as a side dish with some curry chicken and it was a big hit. This is not a very spicy dish and I will likely add additional spices the next time I make it. I'm not a big cauliflower fan but the potato/cauliflower mix was very pleasant and the texture of this dish was a large part of what I liked about it.

Homemade Black Bean Veggie Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
This recipe didn't go over so well with the family. I doubled the recipe and the consistency didn't come out quite as I would have liked. I added two eggs and a 1/2 cup of bread crumbs. The taste wasn't bad and I can see this recipe being used in my house as a pretty good bean dip. Most of my family said the consistency wasn't what the expected for a "burger". I have to agree with them, although I did eat mine!

Zesty Slow Cooker Chicken Barbecue

First slow cooker recipe I've made. Quick, simple and very tasty. I'll definately be making it again. I shredded the chicken and served it on a bun with a side salad.
